Without a doubt, the Nintendo Switch is the ultimate local multiplayer console. Did you know you can voice chat with friends using the Switch Online mobile phone app? It's not the ideal chat system, but it works.

10 Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: Black Order will have local and online multiplayer and three DLC expansion packs available for purchase. The third entry in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series is shaping up to be the best game in the series.

9 The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

As a game that gets progressively better as you dive into it, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has already earned our appreciation on platforms such as Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Now slated for a 2019 release, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is being ported to the Nintendo Switch.

The Switch version is the "complete edition" meaning that it will have all the expansions and bonus content. It won over 250 game of the year awards and is one of the most anticipated games for the Nintendo Switch.

8 Doom Eternal

Widely considered to be one of the most impactful game series in the history of video games, Doom developers are constantly pushing the envelope with their newest iterations. The first Doom game released in 1993, and years later, id Software is still the development company behind Doom.

Based on the presentations at E3 2019, the future looks promising for Doom Eternal. Level designs are more detailed, and it would seem like there is a larger shock factor. Doom Eternal will have at least one new multiplayer mode and we couldn't be more ecstatic.

7 Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is an upcoming life simulation game scheduled to release for the Nintendo Switch in March of 2020. This time around, the graphics are improved, and the interactions are more intriguing.

The addition of farming and being able to place items anywhere makes Animal Crossing: New Horizons comparable to Stardew Valley. There will be more content in this game than any other game in the series. Talking to animals seems like a strange concept, but we are eager to play it anyway.

6 Metroid Prime 4

So little is known about Metroid Prime 4 since a release date hasn't been announced nor have we received a gameplay trailer. Metroid Prime 4 has big shoes to fill since it has to compete with the original Metroid Prime trilogy as well as other spinoffs.

Harnessing the power of the Nintendo Switch will give us the most realistic Metroid Prime experience that is well worth the wait. Metroid Prime 4 would have ranked higher in this list had we been given more information.

5 Pokémon Sword/Shield

We are looking forward to seeing Pokémon Sword and Shield since it is the first time a new main series game has made a debut on a console. There is going to be added layers of depth, even more so than Pokémon Sun and Moon. Sword and Shield will be the first Pokémon games to make use of a new game engine to harness the power of the Switch.

Some fans are upset that Pokémon from previous generations can't be traded to Sword and Shield. Developers are pouring their efforts into the new Pokémon games.  Starting a new chapter in the upcoming Pokémon games may turn out to be a good thing.

4 Luigi's Mansion 3

Set in a spooky hotel, Luigi's Mansion 3 looks like a promising game for the Nintendo Switch. Mario's taller and leaner brother in a new video game? How could we miss it? With a new Poltergust G-00, Luigi is tasked with saving his friends and stopping the ghosts who inhabit the hotel.

With an online and local co-op that is similar to what we saw in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Luigi's Mansion 3 will likely be the best game in the series. Luigi's Mansion 3 is scheduled to release sometime in 2019.

3 Minecraft Dungeons

Minecraft Dungeons is Diablo meets Minecraft in this third-person dungeon crawler for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Once again, developer Mojang is heading the project and based on the gameplay trailer, Minecraft Dungeons could be the most anticipated upcoming game for the Nintendo Switch.

We are assuming this dungeon crawler will have many of the same enemies as the original game. Combatting Creepers, Skeletons, Zombies, and possibly the Ender Dragon should be a significant part of Minecraft Dungeons. It will also feature four-player multiplayer.

This remake to the 1993 handheld action-adventure game is bound to be one of the greatest games to release on the Nintendo Switch. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening has more polish than we could have predicted. It's going to have the look and feel of a new game. Also, it will contain new game modes as well as other new features.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening has enhanced animation that is comparable to ColdWood Interactive's Unravel. Coming just around the corner, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is set to release on September 20, 2019.

1 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is considered by many to be the most anticipated upcoming Nintendo Switch game. Not much is known about the new Breath of the Wild, but we can assume it will be awesome if it's even half as enjoyable as the first.

A trailer was released at E3 2019, which indicates that Breath of the Wild 2 will release in 2020. The game appears to be adopting a darker tone than the first, which was given a perfect score of 10 on IGN.
