In a normal world, when someone points a gun at you and fires, you're probably going to get a bullet somewhere inside you that you'd rather not have. This is also the case for many video game settings, and rightfully so; it's a tiny, metal projectile flying really fast through the air. It's kind of hard to avoid.

However, there are some characters out there that, whether through the use of supernatural abilities, intense training, or something else entirely, are able to not only avoid bullets but catch them right out of the air.

8 Dante - Devil May Cry 3

Dante catching a bullet in his teeth in Devil May Cry 3

Dante has been subjected to a lot of physical abuse over the course of his career as a Devil Hunter, though most of it is of the bladed variety since demons don't make a habit of using guns. Back in Devil May Cry 3, though, he had several interactions with Lady that involve her pumping lead into him.

The first time, he took a slug right in the forehead and shrugged it off, but the second time, he successfully caught her shot, and with his teeth no less. If Dante ever fought someone else who used guns, he could probably do this trick again, though he might just take the shot and walk it off like he usually does.

7 Jeanne - Bayonetta

Bayonetta and Jeanne in a standoff in Bayonetta

During her fights with Bayonetta while under the angels' control, Jeanne demonstrates an impressive mastery of her natural Umbran Witch strength and speed, bolstered by all the years she's been out and about versus Bayonetta's time in stasis.

During these fights, whenever Bayonetta takes a shot at her with one of her pistols, Jeanne is fast and precise enough to casually slap the bullets away, the same way you'd slap a fly buzzing around your head. Bayonetta could probably learn this as well if she wanted to, but similarly to Dante, she doesn't really make a habit of fighting foes that use firearms, magical or mundane.

6 Booker DeWitt - BioShock Infinite

Booker using Return to Sender in BioShock Infinite on an airship.

Through the use of Columbia's Vigors, Booker is capable of a variety of superhuman feats, and with only a little bit of physical trauma and mental scarring! The last Vigor Booker obtains in his rampage through the city is Return To Sender, an odd little concoction that transforms the bones in the drinker's hands into a magnetic material.

Using these magnetic bones, Booker can create a field in front of himself that can either catch bullets and add them to his inventory, or hold them in a molten sphere, which he can then lob at anyone unfortunate enough to be looking at him funny. Elizabeth also receives a similar ability during her solo adventure in Burial at Sea in the form of the Ironsides Vigor.

5 Corvo Attano - Dishonored

Corvo using Bend Time in Dishonored

The supernatural abilities that manifest from the Void in Dishonored are strange and disconcerting, but they're also pretty convenient, giving Corvo the ability to teleport, see in the dark, and control small animals.

One of the most useful abilities, Bend Time, lets Corvo completely halt the flow of time around him in its peak form. In the event he was being fired upon when he stopped time, Corvo can actually see the attackers' bullets suspended in midair, and if he so chooses, pluck them right out of the air and use them for his own firearms.

4 Henry Stickmin - The Henry Stickmin Collection

Henry disarming a guard in The Henry Stickmin Collection

As a cartoony character, Henry Stickmin's capabilities operate on what's known as "Rule of Funny." In ordinary circumstances, he is, for all intents and purposes, a completely normal person with no superhuman abilities, but suddenly gains said superhuman abilities at moments when it would be most entertaining.

Case in point, when escaping from prison, there are several potential scenarios when he's shot normally, but when he's surrounded by guards with assault rifles, he dodges all of their shots, then catches a bullet and slings it back, knocking the rifle out of a guard's hands. All because it was the perfect time for a Matrix reference.

3 MASK de Smith - Killer7

While he's not the fastest member of the Smith Syndicate, MASK de Smith is unquestionably the most physically powerful, which means shrugging off an ordinary bullet is easy for him. Now, technically, we've never seen MASK catch a bullet with his hands, but we have seen him headbutt one out of midair.

If he can manage something like that with no problems, it is well within the realm of possibility for him to catch a bullet with his hands, and he would probably do it the same casual way you'd catch a baseball.

2 Heihachi Mishima - Tekken Series

Heihachi catching a bullet in his teeth in Tekken 6

If we had a nickel for every time Heihachi Mishima caught a metal projectile in his teeth, we'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened more than once. The first instance of this was in the Tekken animated movie when Michelle threw a hatchet at his head and he caught and crushed it in his teeth.

The second time was in Tekken 6 when Lars attempted to shoot Heihachi, only for him to catch the bullet in his teeth in the exact same way. It's mind-boggling how catching it in his teeth always seems to be Heihachi's first response to a projectile hurtling toward his head.

1 Silver The Hedgehog - Sonic The Hedgehog Series

Silver using his powers in Sonic the Hedgehog 2006

The potent psychokinetic powers Silver utilizes allow him to perform all manner of impressive telekinetic feats. He can catch just about any object flying through the air, no matter how fast it's moving, and this includes not only bullets but missiles as well.

Whenever someone unloads a clip of assault rifle bullets at Silver, all he has to do is fire up his psychokinetic field, and they'll all be stopped dead in midair, after which he usually launches them right back at his attackers at roughly the same velocity.
