It's now possible for the Great King of Evil to escape from the boundaries of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and to make his way into the original Nintendo crossover fighting game, as a new mod adds Ganondorf to the roster of the original Super Smash Brosfor the Nintendo 64.

Ganondorf didn't have to wait long to be added to the Super Smash Bros. series, as he made it into Super Smash Bros. Melee, where he was a clone of Captain Falcon. It's now possible for Ganondorf to steal Captain Falcon's place in the original Super Smash Bros. as a mod called Smash Remix will replace the hero of F-Zero with the villain of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Smash Remix was created by a modder named JSsixtyfour, who was able to swap Captain Falcon's model with that of Ganondorf, which only lacks his cape. Ganondorf uses an altered version of Captain Falcon's move set which is slower, but more powerful. The dropped speed is offset by Ganondorf's heavier weight, which makes him harder to KO. Ganondorf can also call on the power of his Warlock Punch in battle.

The Super Smash Bros. series has received lots of different mods over the years, with Project M being the most famous. Project M was an incredibly ambitious project that tried to make Super Smash Bros. Brawl more similar to Super Smash Bros. Melee. There are also numerous character skins that were added to Super Smash Bros. Wii U through modding, which allowed everyone from Goku to Shrek to join the battle.

The original Super Smash Bros. has been eclipsed in popularity by the later entries in the series, but there are still many fans who look back on it fondly. It's good to see that the game still has an active modding community that has individuals who are willing to spend time working on mods that can add new characters to the game. The original Super Smash Bros. was sorely lacking in villain representation, but the Smash Remix mod can change all that by adding the Great King of Evil to the game.
