Genshin Impact 1.3 Release Date And Pre-Downloads

Genshin Impact is getting its first big update since the launch of Dragonspine, and 1.3 will launch in less than a week from the time of writing. You’ll be able to start playing it yourself on February 3.

In addition to that, mobile players will now be able to enjoy pre-downloading the update data either before the scheduled maintenance or even during the maintenance, meaning you’ll be able to get back online as soon as everything has updated.

You won’t be waiting too long for the next update either, as Mihoyo have now made it clear that they intend to deliver chunky updates to the game at least every six weeks from now on.

I’m sure you already know that Xiao is the big character leading the 1.3 banner, and I’m sure you’re already very excited to get to grips with him. We may have written a few articles about Xiao. Xiao’s Invitation To Mundane Life banner will be available from February 3 until February 16.

Keqing will also be a featured character in the banner after Xiao, the Dance Of Lanterns banner, and that will be available starting February 17.

New Quests

There are a handful of new quests confirmed to be in the game very soon, but this likely isn’t the full list.

  • Xiao Story Quest: All That Glitters - starts the Lantern Rite event.
  • Five Flushes Of Fortune - complete photo challenges for rewards.
  • Vishaps And Where To Find Them - send your excess characters away to complete these quests.
  • Tianqiu Treasure Trail - this quest will help you get the Parametric Transformer, which we shall tell you all about if you scroll down a bit more…

New Events

As you’re aware from the All The Glitters trailer, the Lantern Rite event series will be available once 1.3 is up. We don’t have specific details for this event quite yet, but we know that it’ll have three phases:

  • Lantern Rite Tales
  • Theater Mechanicus
  • Xiao Market

Make sure to complete Xiao’s story quest to unlock this event.

There will also be the Stand By Me event, which has been confirmed to rewards you with a four-star Liyue character of your choice upon completion. Ningguang is a great choice, by the way.

New Weapon

There’s a brand new five-star sword entering into Genshin Impact, and it’s known as the Primordial Jade Cutter. Sounds fancy, but is it? Well, we don’t know the details and will have to wait until update 1.3 lands to find out for ourselves.

New Gadget

Yes, there’s a new gadget entering the fray, and it’s an interesting one. The Parametric Transformer is capable of taking items in your inventory that you don’t want or need, and transforming them into level-up items, making it much easier to raise the level of characters you just managed to pull from a Wish summon. You will need to complete the Tianqiu Treasure Trail quest before you unlock it, but it’s very exciting to see.
