Albedo can first be found studying on Dragonspine mountain in Genshin Impact, where he begins to experiment on the Traveler. While the two become fast friends, it's apparent that Albedo has research on his mind at all times. He is a famed alchemist, a mentor to Sucrose, a friend to Mona, and a popular artist. Albedo isn't shy like Sucrose but tends to find little interest in others.
Despite his many talents, though, Albedo has a strange backstory that points to him likely not being completely human. In the game, Albedo is a five-star geo catalyst user who was designed to play a support role.
Updated on April 27. 2021 by Jessica Thomas: Albedo is one of the most curious characters in all of Mondstadt. He is usually secluded from the rest of the cast and would rather spend his time in the freezing temperatures of Dragonspine than working in town.
He is an incredibly talented bio-alchemist and is capable of reviving plants that come from other worlds. In his spare time, he also proves to be a talented painter who even helps to illustrate books. While he may not be the most powerful character to play as he is certainly one of the most interesting characters to learn about in Genshin Impact.
12 Sucrose Admires Him
Sucrose is pretty much completely smitten with the work of Albedo. She sees him as a great teacher and an excellent alchemist. Albedo is one of the only characters that Sucrose associates herself with, which is something the two have in common, as neither are heavily involved with others.
Albedo thanks highly of Sucrose himself and calls her pleasant to have around. His only wish is that she would be less formal with him.
11 He May Turn Evil
Albedo is one of the most suspicious characters in the game. It is all but said that he is a Homunculus, and he even fears that he may lose control of himself one day. Dainsleif also foreshadows this when talking about Albedo.
Many fans agree that he will likely be a future fight, similar to Childe. This is backed up by the fact that Albedo also seems to have a strange obsession with dark objects, for instance, the Festering Desire.
10 He's An Illustrator
Albedo is a well-known artist and even helps out with illustrations for the books that Xingqiu writes. While many want to use him as an illustrator, he seems to only want to work on books that personally interest him, a theory that perfectly fits in with the personality he shows in Dragonspine.
Albedo has little to no interest in earning more mora, so there is no way for a publisher to try and bribe him to do extra work.
9 He Is Great With Children
It has been noted that Albedo is actually very good at interacting with children. While this isn't highly elaborated on, we do know that Klee will listen to him. This is a huge deal as Klee might just be the most destructive character in all of Mondstadt and Liyue combined with her love for explosions.
Albedo does seem to have a sincere personality, so children likely feel comfortable being around him.
8 His Alchemy Comes From Khaenri'ah
Alchemy like Albedo's is pretty much unknown to the seven nations and is only really practiced in the country of Khaenri'ah, where Kaeya is from. There is a chance that Albedo may have been born, or as many fans believe, created in Khaenri'ah, where his master took him in.
The alchemy he uses has control over life itself to some degree, with him being able to breathe life into plants. This caught many citizens of Teyvat by surprise.
7 He Is Reclusive
While he doesn't really have a problem socializing, Albedo doesn't seem to be that fond of making friends. He believes that it takes too much energy to keep up with relationships. Because of this, he would rather avoid getting deeply involved with others, in order to focus on his research.
It's mentioned that it can even be hard to find Albedo as he doesn't usually share his location or ask for help.
6 Klee Is His Adopted Sister
Albedo and Klee aren't blood-related, but Alice helped to take care of Albedo and asked that he think of Klee as his sister. The two have taken on a sibling-like relationship, and Albedo is close to Klee. In fact, Albedo can even be found spending most of his energy trying to clean up after her.
Klee seems to also admire him as her dialogue says that she doesn't mind waiting around to spend time with him.
5 He Was Adopted
Albedo's birth is shrouded in mystery, but one thing that has been revealed is his master took him in. Sadly, his master, Rhine, one day suddenly disappeared; only leaving a note telling him to move to Mondstadt. She was the only family he had, and her disappearance greatly bothers him to this day.
Albedo himself doesn't seem to be looking for her, though, and simply accepts that she has disappeared.
4 He Loves Reading
Unlike the busy Sucrose, Albedo does have hobbies outside of work. His favorite thing to do is to read books, particularly the ones he illustrates for Xingqiu. This makes a lot of sense as Albedo doesn't seem the type to go drinking, and he prefers to stay away from social situations.
Albedo likely even gets to read copies of Xinqius books before the rest of the world gets a chance to.
3 He Loves Sweets
One might think with the way Albedo studies that his favorite foods would all be health-based. Surprisingly, Albedo loves to eat, especially if it's dessert food. While it doesn't seem like he's too picky about the types of sweets he's given, he finds the sugar rush they give him quite pleasant.
It seems that Albedo may even enjoy eating sweets more than he does sitting down for an actual meal.
2 He Doesn't Like Restaurants
Albedo is actually not a fan of going to restaurants and prefers to avoid them altogether. He mostly fixes his food at home, where he can better control the portions. He also doesn't like to partake in large portions of meat as he doesn't feel that he can finish it and hates being wasteful.
Albedo seems to have a rather small appetite, but at least he knows how not to be wasteful.
1 He Wants to Experiment on Paimon
Albedo has a very curious mind that wants to uncover the truth of everything around him. Because of this deep curiosity, he can't help but be interested in Paimon and what makes her float. In his dialogue, he even asks the Traveler if he can borrow Paimon in order to experiment on her.
The good news is that she doesn't appear to be food; the bad is that Albedo may still want to dissect her.
