Genshin Impact is one of the most popular video games right now for all platforms, and it's a generous title that just keeps on giving. The free price tag certainly helped a lot with its popularity, and coupled with the anime aesthetics, it was only bound to become the best in its class. It definitely cemented the success factor of anime video games.

Of course, Genshin Impact can only get so enchanting before players soon become exhausted by the immense grind required by the game's gacha system. Hence, looking at other anime games and their own gacha or open-world models should set the players' perspective straight. They'll either find a reprieve from the gambling or come back to Genshin Impact with these ten titles. Either way is a win.

10 Honkai Impact 3rd

Honkai Impact 3rd's art style is surprisingly similar to Genshin Impact, so is its title. They also have the same developer and a gacha system as well. Still, their likeness ends there as Honkai Impact pursues a different format of its own. It's more action-packed and faster-paced than Genshin Impact. Most of the characters are also female and possess outrageous anime powers.

Honkai Impact 3rd also has multiple game modes and introduced open-world gameplay earlier this year. Much like Genshin Impact, it's also cross-platform and players on the PC can meet and have fun with those on mobile. The setting is perfect for those craving for sci-fi instead of Genshin Impact's high fantasy.

9 Fire Emblem Heroes

Speaking of high fantasy, Fire Emblem Heroes shares that much with Genshin Impact. Fire Emblem is a certified and long-standing RPG series that has made its way into mobile back in 2017 with Fire Emblem Heroes. Don't expect the graphics to be as advanced as Genshin Impact's, this one is more modest and emulates 16-bit style animation and art.

The plot and story are actually more of a premise here. Players simply visit different Fire Emblem worlds of the past and recruit the heroes of those worlds to fight on their side. Combat is turn-based and maps are instanced with no open-world exploration. However, the gacha system is still there and is pretty much intact.

8 Dragon Raja

When someone asks what is currently the most beautiful MMORPG on mobile right now, the most common answer would likely be Dragon Raja. It's a game that surprisingly huge and populated, making it a marvel that fits on a handheld device and marks how far phones have gone.

Dragon Raja is about as standard as MMORPGs come. Lots of grinding involved and many other side activities to distract them from the "stop the evil villain" main quest. Where it shines, however, is in how technologically advanced it is for a mobile game as it's pretty much a full MMORPG experience in the players' pockets.

7 Lord Of Heroes

Lord of Heroes is yet another gacha-based fantasy game that also came out just recently. It does have a different structure compared to Genshin Impact and utilizes party gameplay more efficiently since the combat is turn-based and more strategic.

The grind lies in obtaining specific characters that are rare and in-demand. Each of them has different specializations, skills, and moves and even elements not unlike those present in Genshin Impact. The premise is also more unique as Lord of Heroes imagines the players' party as a roaming army who's after the throne of a powerful but turbulent kingdom.

6 Dragalia Lost

If a mobile game is co-developed by Nintendo, then players can be sure that it's a decent one at the very least. That would be Dragalia Lost and it's a top-down action RPG that shares the same format as the Monster Hunter games of Capcom. It's where players visit an instanced area or dungeon and take on usually a single boss where an epic fight goes on for several minutes depending on their skill.

There are other factors involved, of course, such as the characters used. Some of them are rarer than others and only obtainable through Dragalia Lost's standard gambling-heavy gacha system. Those tired of the boss fight formula can also try out other quest designs such as wave-based killing sessions.

5 Sword Art Online: Integral Factor

It's only natural that an anime about video games will get its own anime video game. Sword Art Online: Integral Factor is the fruitful mobile project of the popular franchise though it's a bit less grand than its console or PC counterparts. Still, it's a worthy contender to Genshin Impact even though it was actually released earlier.

Sword Art Online: Integral Factor follows the lore of the anime closely and puts players in the shoes of an assault team on their way to reach the 100th floor of Aincrad much like Kirito. The environment is also a decently-sized open world and should be a wonderful playground for fans.

4 The Alchemist Code

For another turn-based and gacha-based anime online game, The Alchemist Code has a nice collection of 50 characters. All of them blend and synergize together in party-based gameplay not unlike in Genshin Impact. Do expect a slower pace of action for this one as it's grid-based, like Fire Emblem Heroes.

The story is pretty much the typical anime friendship fantasy of two best friends fighting and killing each other for a disagreement and because they apparently like the same girl. That sets up the stage for co-op multiplayer and competitive PVP against friends or strangers.

3 Another Eden

For those looking for a serious and Final Fantasy-esque gacha RPG, Another Eden might just fit the bill. It's one of the newer titles around and has a good pedigree of creators since the story and the music are made by the same guys responsible for the anime game Chrono Trigger.

Fans of that one ought to feel at home in Another Eden (no pun intended) as there's also numerous nods and references to it. The graphics might not be as grandiose as Genshin Impact's but Another Eden makes up for that with its story elements and more strategic gameplay.

2 Arknights

arknights

Looking for something unique than the usual RPG/strategy game on mobile? Then look no further than what Arknights has on offer. It's a hybrid gacha/RPG/tower defense game where the characters act as the towers as they slay wave upon wave of disfigured monsters.

These monsters were the result of a deadly infection sweeping through the land. Players then get to assume the role of a key member of a pharmaceutical company suspiciously named Rhodes Island. They then choose their operators who will act as the first line of defense against the infection which has manifested into deadly baddies.

1 Fate/Grand Order

Last but not least, one of the most popular gacha RPGs in the history of mobile games, Fate/Grand Order. This one has been around since 2015 and has been wracking players minds with how random its gacha system can be. Some have even spent thousands of dollars just to get their favorite character in-game.

That's because Fate/Grand Order is based on the Fate anime series and showcases the same lore and the same characters. It does have its own original story but that usually takes a backseat to the turn-based JRPG combat in the game as well as the powerful characters.
