Barbara is a hydro healer that has got a ton of attention since Genshin Impact came out. She is a four-star character with the ability to heal players' teams, and when her constellation is leveled up, she can even revive fallen characters. Aside from being useful in a party, though, Barbara has a very cheerful and unique personality that has won over both citizens of Teyvat and the gamers playing as her.

There is a lot of fun in-game trivia about Barbara that helps to bring shed light on her character even further. From who her mysterious sister is to her thoughts on being famous, there are a lot of facts Barbara fans should know.

Updated on February 6, 2021 by Jessica Thomas: Barbara has continued to gain popularity even months after the release of the game. This is partly thanks to the fact that she has been given out for free to in-game players. Mihoyo also launched a special video in January of the character having a conversation with the player that garnered over a million views. In addition to the video, her voice lines also got an update, which has greatly divided fans who feel that she sounds less peppy. No matter the voice though, players are eagerly waiting to learn more about the idol, and her story quest may just be one of the most anticipated out of the current cast of characters.

12 She Loves Spicy Food and Drinks

Barbara Upset

Barbara is popular enough to influence the people of Monsdadt, and talking to them reveals that she is obsessed with spicy products. In fact, Barbara is known for importing items with Jueyun peppers as ingredients from Liyue, and many of her fans in the city follow suit. In her dialogue, she will also offer the Traveler one of her spicy energy drinks as it apparently helps pep her up.

11 She is Gullible

Barbara and Rosaria

Barbara is a sweet girl who wants to think the best of everyone around her. She is also willing to go out of her way to help the church, as seen when she chases down Sister Rosaria. Sadly, Barbara is easily deceived by those around her, especially when it comes to Rosaria.

Luckily, it doesn't seem like Fischl and Barbara know each other, so the idol hasn't tried to help her return to her original home.

10 She is an Idol

Barbara Entertaining

Barabara is the textbook definition of an idol in the game. She regularly goes around town singing and even started out in a small idol group. When she is left to stand still, she will begin to sing and even put on a mini-performance for the player that some fans have even got stuck in their heads.

Barbara is, without a doubt, the picture of a sweet young idol that has a big future in the Teyvat music industry.

9 Idols Confused Her at First

Genshin Impact Barbara

While Barbara might have already been involved in an idol group, the term was rather foreign to her at first. In fact, it wasn't until she received a magazine that talked about idols that she realized exactly how others look at her and the other members of her group.

Though Barbara probably had a million questions while reading the magazine, she learned to love the term and lifestyle of an idol.

8 Jean is Her Older Sister

One of Barbara's idol animations mentions the fact that she wants to be as tall as her older sister, but it's not until players do some digging that they learn who it is. Jean is Barbara's older sister, who going off of some of Barbara's story, players assume is quite close to the young idol.

Many fans are hoping that when Barbara's character quest is released that they will get to see interactions between the two.

7 She is Jealous of Jean

Despite the fact that the two do seem to be quite close, Barbara is a bit jealous of her older sister. She sees Jean as "the very definition of success" and has worked hard to try and surpass her sister. This led Barbara to even try her hand at sword fighting earlier in her life to beat Jean.

While some of this jealousy has now been put aside, fans can still tell that Barbara still wishes to be more like her.

6 She Works at the Church

Barbara is first introduced in the church, where she works as a deaconess under her father. From the bit of information gathered from her during the game, it's safe to assume that Barbara sees this as an important role and wants to do the best she can to care for the people of Mondstadt.

She also has access to important artifacts, which most likely means she is high ranking in the church.

5 She Acknowledges Her Combat Weakness

Barbara isn't exactly a hard hitter in the game, and most players have her in the party for her useful healing abilities. Surprisingly, Barbara is very aware of the fact that she is not skilled in combat. Instead of focusing on fighting, she simply learned to hone her healing abilities over time.

She does state that she is bummed out about her lack of swordsmanship as she states that knights look cool to her.

4 She Learned Healing From Her Father

While the father of Jean and Barbara hasn't officially been introduced into the game, according to the current lore, he is likely a powerful healer. Barbara's father trained her to have her amazing healing abilities, which, according to the game, can help to even repair flesh wounds.

It is also seen when Jean uses Dandelion Breeze that she has some healing talents as well, that she likely learned from their dad.

3 Mondstadt Loves Her

Barbara Special Video Render

The people in Mondstadt simply adore Barbara, and this is mentioned several times within her story content. Just seeing the young idol seems to feel the people of the city with instant happiness. If Barbara uses her magic in town, the people will even clap for her in appreciation.

This is due to the fact that she has likely healed several of the townsfolk and can also put on an amazing show.

2 Babara is Deeply Troubled

Despite the love she receives from the town, Barbara reveals that she is actually deeply troubled by her talents. She states that while she can make most people happy for a small amount of time, she is saddened to see that the happiness quickly fades aways after she interacts with them.

Barbara even bars herself from acting depressed in order to try and keep the townspeople from feeling down.

1 She is Incredibly Religious

Babara is shown to be incredibly religious, and one of her dialogue pieces is even a prayer that she will do daily. It's actually a bit sad that Barbara doesn't know the true identity of Venti, as she is always trying to do her best to honor the God of Anemo no matter what situation she is in.

She even believes that her ability to be an idol was bestowed on her by the archon and does her best to use it to serve the city.
