The Adventurers' Guild in Genshin Impact is one of the first things you're introduced to in the game, as well as one of the most important. After all, it's the reason you get to earn extra primogems via commissions every day, as well as obtain extra rewards every time your Adventure Rank increases.

It's also the source of many interesting characters, both playable and not. Joining the guild isn't too difficult, so there are quite a few members. But some of them manage to stand out thanks to their contributions and eccentric personalities.

5 "Stanley"

Stanley claiming to be a great explorer and legend of Mondstadt to Venti, Traveler, Paimon, and Jack in Genshin Impact

Stanley's a prominent character in Venti's first Story Quest, and you won't understand why until you finish it. He and Venti have more in common than meets the eye. When you first meet him, Stanley comes across as an arrogant person who constantly brags about his brave adventures. It turns out he's lying about more than just those daring deeds.

However, you can't help but feel for him when you realize he lies not out of a desire for glory, but out of remembrance. His name is actually Hans, not Stanley, but he did have a friend and traveling buddy named Stanley who really was the amazing adventurer Hans claims to be. The real Stanley died saving Hans' life during an adventure, so Hans swore to preserve Stanley's legacy by assuming his name and telling tales of his adventures, as if he were still alive. It's both a heartwarming tribute and a heartbreaking coping mechanism.

4 Zhiqiong

Zhiqiong sitting on the ground with her hands on her lap looking at the viewer in the Chasm in Genshin Impact

Though she's an NPC who doesn't reappear after her related quests, Zhiqiong is one of the most memorable characters in the game. She's not a Vision holder, but she's not afraid of taking on risky quests and exploring the unknown, because her ultimate desire is to leave a mark on the world and be remembered.

Her descent into the Chasm affected her physically and mentally, but she refused to stop. She was determined to do something that would let her be remembered after she was gone, even if it meant putting herself in harm's way. After her disappearance in the Chasm, you can find a letter to the Traveler detailing how she envies Vision holders and resents the gods who bestow those Visions. It's a very human perspective and brings the gods into question. Her fate isn't totally clear, but she's at least accomplished what she wanted: to be remembered.

3 Katheryne

Traveler and Katheryne looking at each other while Katheryne is behind the Liyue reception desk in Genshin Impact

As the Adventurers' Guild receptionist, Katheryne functions as its representative to the Traveler. How she manages to be at every reception desk every time you travel to a different region is a bit of a mystery, but it just adds to her charm. In fact, she's a mysterious individual in general. Her mannerisms can be seen as robotic, but she's also able to smile and hold natural conversations with people who visit the desk.

She has a keyhole on the back of her neck, and you can hear her say "rebooting" and "error" if you stand nearby. However, in one of Sumeru's Archon Quests, Nahida mentions that Katheryne is a Snezhnayan puppet. This means she can't be fully trusted, but you can't help but be endeared by her. No one else can give you the Ad Astra Abyssosque greeting quite like she can.

2 Fischl

Fischl holding a bow and laughing as she looks at viewer in Genshin Impact

There's never a dull moment with Fischl around. It's often hard to understand what she's saying because of the unnecessarily complex language she uses, but that's why her loyal night raven Oz is there to help translate. Her insistence on roleplaying as a dark princess might seem strange or even annoying, but that persona is what makes it easier for her to communicate with others.

She accidentally breaks character sometimes, which shows that she does have a grasp on her real self. She simply chooses to act as the Prinzessin inspired by her favorite books. Many are put off by her, but if you do give her a chance, it quickly becomes obvious that she's a caring and compassionate person behind the act. You'll never be bored, and you get to befriend a genuinely good person.

1 Bennett

Bennett smiling at the viewer with hands on his hips in Genshin Impact

Bennett didn't get the nickname "Bad Luck Bennett" out of nowhere. Bad luck really does seem to follow him wherever he goes. But his response to it is what makes him so great. Despite everything he goes through daily, as well as the fact that people stay away from him because of his bad luck, Bennett remains good-natured and friendly.

He doesn't let his terrible luck get in the way of his passion for adventure, and he's still extraordinarily kind to everyone, even the people who openly shun him out of fear. He knows this curse affects how people treat him, which is why he's beyond grateful when you show that you do want to go adventuring with him. He also appreciates the little things, like finding a cabbage in a treasure chest, because to him, that's some seriously good luck. Bennett is one of the most wholesome characters in Genshin Impact.
