Most of the time, the active talents are all the rage in Genshin Impact since everyone loves seeing the damage numbers rise. Any other achievement in the game just pales in comparison. However, behind all the flash, the characters' passive talents do some heavy lifting of their own.

Then again, one of the reasons why most passive talents are ignored is due to how redundant or self-contained they are, often only improving one character. Still, there are some useful and incredibly advantageous passive talents that ease the pain of grinding or provide some clutch for parties in the heat of combat. These unsung heroes' stats in Genshin Impact deserve some recognition.

Updated September 18, 2021 by Sid Natividad: Now that the Inazuma update has arrived and was also succeeded by several big ones that expanded the area even more, along came the new characters as well. As expected, the characters from Inazuma are all powerful and generally useful, particularly in the Genshin passive talents segment. The Genshin Impact passive talents are thus more exciting than ever since new functions have been introduced. Some of them are more tailored to the Inazuma landscape while others will likely make their host character desirable all throughout Teyvat in the subsequent updates and nations. So we'll all be taking a good look back at some of the most impressive passive talents Genshin Impact has to offer.

15 Raiden Shogun's All Preserver

Raiden Shogun releasing an electric blade from her chest.

Starting off with Raiden Shogun, she's quite the handful of features in Genshin Impact. Her primary role is that of an offensive support and this extends well into her initial passive talent, All Preserver. With it enabled or with her in the party, she'll halve the cost of ascending swords and polearms.

This is unique as far as characters go. None of them lets you save Mora on that kind of scale. It also just so happens that many of the newest Inazuma characters are reliant on swords. Raiden Shogun herself has a polearm. It's handy and lets players save up time and resin.

14 Kujou Sara's Decorum

Genshin Impact's Kujou Sara in her first trailer reveal

Kujou Sara's first available passive talent isn't too substantial as it's only for Inazuma expeditions. Decorum, her final passive talent, on the other hand, is just too valuable to pass up. It states that when a phase of her Elemental Skill hits enemies, she will automatically restore every party member's energy depending on her Energy Recharge.

This easily makes Kujou Sara a reliable battery regardless of the element. In fact, she can even act as an alternative to Raiden Shogun in case you got a bootleg version of her during the 50/50 (aka Keqing).

13 Yoimiya's Summer Nights Dream

One thing that disgruntled players about Yoimiya is the fact that her abilities are split between primary offense and support. So you might as well take full advantage of the latter aspect. Her final passive talent, Summer Nights Dream, makes her more or less better than Bennet when it comes to buffing attacks.

Thanks to that passive, Yoimiya will grant her party members (excluding her) a big bonus to ATK whenever she uses her Elemental Burst. If her Burst accumulates more stacks, then this ATK bonus is further increased. Since she can also act as a primary DPS, then you can count her as a two-for-one.

12 Kazuha's Poetics of Fuubutsu

Kazuha after a battle

Kazuha's initial passive talent is the same as Razor's so he has competition for that slot. However, you might still want to prefer Kazuha not just because he's a five-star but also because of his final passive, Poetics of Fuubutsu. This is such a huge buff to any party that relies on elemental reactions that he's almost mandatory for those kinds of teams.

Poetics of Fuubutsu grants Elemental DMG Bonus for every point of Elemental Mastery on Kazuha. Considering how easy it is to stack up Elemental Mastery through artifacts, you can probably imagine just how tremendous that bonus would be thanks to Kazuha.

11 Sayu's Passive Talents

Sayu is one of the latest four-star character in Genshin Impact and you'll find every aspect and mechanic of her highly functional. There's no wastage here compared to other characters. Her initial passive talent makes it easier to catch Crystalflies.

No Work Today! makes her an incredible co-op healer. Meanwhile, Someone More Capable makes it so that she also heals the whole party every time she produces a Swirl reaction. Qiqi might need to move over as the most vigorous healer in the game, Sayu has her beaten.

10 Yanfei's Encyclopedic Expertise

Yanfei Wink

Before Yanfei came along, Qiqi was the typical go-to character for farming Liyue's local specialties such as Cor Lapis, Violetgrass, and other ascension materials. Then, Yanfei came along and replaced Qiqi as a more readily available character, since she's a four-star.

Moreover, she's a DPS carry, meaning her presence in a party is more of a priority than Qiqi's. Hence, Yanfei's Encyclopedic Expertise talent is more preferable, assuming players don't have Qiqi yet. Either way, both of them make flower collection easier.

9 Venti's Stormeye & Windrider

Genshin Impact Venti Skill And Talent Use

Venti is just killing it with the support role as both his active and passive talents provide massive boosts. Stormeye practically ensures Venti doesn't run out of energy and if players set him up for Swirl reactions, that energy generation also extends to other party members.

Meanwhile, Windrider reduces stamina consumption for gliding. Amber also has this passive talent, but good luck trying to fit her into a competent team. Venti just brings so much to the table that it's hard to live without him.

8 Xiao's Transcension: Gravity Defier

Xiao Finding Dandelions

Yet another Anemo character that also gives out a significant benefit to the whole party, Xiao is quite unique. Apart from being the only DPS-focused Anemo character, his passive talent, Transcension: Gravity Defier is a godsend for exploration.

That's because it's the only passive talent in the game that reduces the stamina consumption of climbing, for now. It's incredibly handy when players are scaling cliff faces and mountainsides hunting down oculi or treasures.

7 Ningguang's Trove of Marvelous Treasures

Ningguang-Sunset-Genshin-Impact Cropped

Ningguang is also another unique character from Liyue since, apart from being the only Geo catalyst user, she also has a nifty passive talent called Trove of Marvelous Treasures. This talent lets Ningguang reveal all the nearby ores in the vicinity.

Anyone looking to bolster their ore stocks should have Ningguang in the party. It also doesn't matter whether those ores are in Mondstadt or Liyue. If Ningguang wants those rocks, she will have them. Maybe that's how she became the richest person in Liyue.

6 Klee's Sparkling Burst & All of my Treasures!

Klee Drawing in Genshin Impact

Speaking of characters who love treasures, Klee is similar to Ningguang. Although, she holds dear a different kind of treasure. Her passive talent Sparkling Burst is awesome for energy generation since it lets her give energy particles to the party whenever her Charge Attacks score critical damage.

Her third passive talent, All of my Treasures! is also valuable as it's essentially the Mondstadt version of Qiqi or Yanfei's local specialty tracker. If Klee had healing capabilities, she would have been the perfect character.

5 Mona's Principium of Astrology

Mona using her base attack

Some people shudder at the thought of losing the 50/50 featured character pity gamble to Mona, but she's not all that bad. Apart from being an excellent sub-DPS, her passive talent, Principium of Astrology is a thrifty player's best bet — fitting really, considering one of Mona's main lore traits is that she is broke.

Anyway, this passive talent gives Mona a 25 percent chance to refund a portion of the crafting materials used for weapon ascension materials. For players who are short on resin, this is a lovely talent to have — just make sure it's Mona that's doing the crafting.

4 Flash Of Genius (Xingqiu & Albedo)

Genshin Impact Albedo Brushstrokes

Both Xingqiu and Albedo are geniuses of their own nations and thus, they share the same passive talent, Flash of Genius. It's different for each of them, however; Xingqiu has a 25 percent chance to refund crafting materials used in crafting character ascension materials.

As for Albedo, he can double the material being crafted, though the chance is quite low at ten percent. Either of them will surely make players happy since the resin and effort savings are considerable. Again, just make sure they're doing the crafting.

3 Rosaria's Shadow Samaritan

Rosaria-Promo-Image-Genshin-Impact

One of the relatively recent additions to the four-star roster, Rosaria is most welcome in the game thanks to her rather unique aesthetic and an overly aggressive style. In fact, she's so aggressive, she tends to share that aggression with other party members.

Rosaria's passive talent, Shadow Samaritan, makes her benevolently deadly (ironic) since she will automatically share a bit of her CRIT Rate with her allies whenever she casts her Elemental Burst. Any character suffering from a low CRIT Rate will find this talent most welcome.

2 Eula's Aristocratic Introspection

Eula-Close-Up-Genshin-Impact

If you're lucky enough to have gotten Eula, then consider yourself doubly fortunate as she also shares the same predilection for character ascension materials as Albedo. She has a passive talent called Aristocratic Introspection.

Like Albedo's Flash of Genius, this gives Eula a chance to double any crafted character ascension material. The chance is still low at ten percent, but it should be enough if players missed Albedo before. It's also great for Eula herself, as she needs all those extra books for her talents as they're rather demanding.

1 Sucrose's Mollis Favonius & Astable Invention

Sucrose-Pouring-Genshin-Impact Cropped

Last but not least is Sucrose and her underrated talents. She's also a good contender against Venti for support thanks to her second passive talent, Mollis Favonius. It lets her share some of her Elemental Mastery to the party, which is perfect for a Diluc team.

Her other passive talent, Astable Invention, is priceless, as she can double the output of crafted weapon and character enhancement materials at a ten percent chance. She certainly learned a lot from her mentor Albedo.
