There are a lot of things that are going on at all times inside of the world of Genshin Impact. From world quests to treasures, it always seems like there is something to do. While exploring, though, most players have learned that there are a ton of different types of currency in the game, and each one does something slightly different. This can lead to some confusion as some shops will only accept mora while the game's special shop deals in a strange item called star glitter. Below is evThereery type of currency currently available in the game, how to get it, and where it is most commonly used.

9 Wish

Wishes are a direct ticket to gacha pulls. These can be used in the wish section of the game to summon a random item or character and add them to your team. There are currently two slightly different types of wishes, and each banner will state what type of wish they use when you go to make a pull.

Intertwined fate is used for special wishes, while standard wishes are the most common currency used on banners. They can be purchased using primogems, genesis crystals, or earned by leveling up in-game or using the battle pass.

8 Primogem

Primogems are the in-game currency that allows players to purchase wishes so that they can pull characters. In addition to wishes, though, they can also help players purchase additional resin when they run out, which can be helpful when trying to farm domains for certain items.

Primogems can be purchased using genesis crystals or earned by doing quests, leveling up your adventure rank, or by doing special events as Mihoyo adds them in. They are also commonly sent out during maintenance and to compensate players for bugs.

7 Genesis Crystal

Genesis crystals are one of the simpler currencies to understand because they are turned into primogems. The big difference between the genesis crystal and every other type of in-game currency is that players can only obtain them when they spend real money to purchase them from the shop.

Genesis crystals, once bought, can be exchanged for primogems, and everyone's genesis crystal is worth one primogem.

6 Stardust

Stardust is a consolation prize you get from making wishes that can add up over time. Stardust can be spent in the game shop in order to acquire a certain set amount of items and wishes every month. In addition, stardust can be exchanged for a bit of mora when players run out.

Stardust is easy to collect and will build-up over time naturally, especially when primogems are used to make wishes. The general rule of thumb is that players get 15 stardust per three-star wish.

5 Starglitter

Starglitter is one of the rarer types of currency in the game as it is harder to stockpile or even get in the first place. Much list stardust, players will get starglitter from making wishes; the catch is that only four or five-star items will grant the player starglitter, which are harder to pull.

In addition, starglitter is usually given out in packs of two, unless players can constantly pull five-star repeats of the same character.

4 Sigil

Sigils are a type of currency that can be found by exploring around the world and doing simple tasks like opening chests. Each region has a different type of sigil that corresponds to the element, and they can be taken to jewelers in the main cities to exchange for a wide variety of useful items that can help players upgrade their characters.

Sigils will also help unlock the Traveler's constellations and can be a great way to accumulate some extra mora if players begin to run low, especially during the more expensive late game.

3 Mora

Mora is the currency of Teyvat and what most normal shops will take in exchange for food, materials, and weapons. More importantly, though, players will need a huge stash of mora to keep leveling up their character. Using level books, ascending, leveling up weapons, and even upgrading talents all take a huge amount of mora that will increase as the player becomes even stronger.

Mora can be easy to gain as enemies drop it, most chests contain it, and there are several additional ways to bring in huge amounts of mora, like exchanging sigils.

2 Original Resin

Resin is a hot topic within the game at the moment because players only get a certain amount of resin each day that they don't have to pay for. Without resin, players can't claim rewards from the various domains, bosses, and blossoms located around the map that are needed to help level up characters.

Resin is a resource that players should try to use up each day they play, but also learn to ration out so that they can get the items they need the most. Resin does replenish by the minute, but it can be incredibly slow.

1 Fragile Resin

Fragile resin is an item that can grant players additional resin for free when they run out. Fragile resin is given out by doing quests and claiming adventurer rewards. Each fragile resin piece can be redeemed for 60 resin, which is just enough to add on a couple of boss fights for the day.

This is a resource that won't be given out a lot, but when it is, it can give players the boost they need to farm items.
