It's hard not to hear about Fischl for players of Genshin Impact. She was a prominent part of the last event and has been given away for free by Mihoyo. Many players have learned that trying to figure out what the young girl is saying, though, can be almost impossible.
Speaking to Fischl is confusing at the best of times as she prefers to speak using both outdated languages and saying things that seem like they jump right out of a fantasy novel. There is a lot to Fischl, and as one may have guessed, that isn't really her name.

Fischl continues to be a character that intrigues players, and many want to get to know the girl behind the facade. Players already know that there is more to her than meets the eye and that she is likely one of the most helpful people in Mondstadt. She works for intelligence and even seems to understand that the Traveler is not from Teyvat. It's safe to say that Fischl may even be the most observant person in town; it's honestly a bit surprising that she isn't closer to Diluc or Rosaria.
12 She's a Special Agent
Fischl seems to be slightly different from the other characters in Mondstadt, who work for the adventurer's guild. Fischl is shown to be on the move around quite a lot and is trusted with handling dangerous situations, like meteorites, that can place her into a temporary coma. She is also seen working on her own, which typically isn't allowed in the guild.
It seems like Fischl may be more in line with Rosaria and Diluc than she is with actual adventurer's like Bennett.
11 She's Friends With Bennett
Fischl seems to charm those around her with her personality, as can be seen by how the other characters talk about her. Sadly, this also means that some of the more gullible adventures fall for her antics. Bennett, in particular, is friends with Fischl and insists that she take him to visit her homeland.
This apparently happens regularly as he mentions Fischl always changes the subject when he brings it up.
10 Her Name is Amy
Fischl is not her real name, and she doesn't want anyone to know it. Amy is her real name, but she forbids anyone from knowing about it and even has her name blacked out in her story segments. As far as Fischl is concerned, she was never Amy and would do just about anything to hide her real name.
Some story elements seem to point to the fact that Fischl will eventually learn to fully accept herself in the future, though.
9 She is an Avid Reader
Fischl's favorite hobby is reading and has been since she was a small child. She loves to spend most of her time in the library, and books helped develop her persona. In fact, there is actually a book about the character that Amy is pretending to be called Flowers For Princess Fischl.
As it turns out, she even named her partner Oz after a character from a book.
8 She Cares For Her Friends
Despite the fact that Fischl seems unapproachable, she has made friends through the library and the adventurer's guild like Bennett, Noelle also seems to be quite fond of Fischl, believing she is actually famous. She seems unwilling to let them know the truth about her origins though.
One of Fischl's voice lines reveals that she worries about the people she had made friends with when traveling.
7 She is Young
There has been a huge commotion in the Genshin Impact community over figuring out just how old the characters are. While Mihoyo hasn't yet announced any ages, Fischl has dialogue that easily places her somewhere between the ages of fourteen and Twenty-one, assuming the age for drinking is twenty-one in Mondstadt.
Her attitude seems to point to the fact that Fischl is still in her teens, especially with her shy attitude about love.
6 She Doesn't Need the Eyepatch
Fischl is not injured as she might lead one to believe by wearing an eyepatch. It seems that she thinks that her eye is a powerful weapon that must not be uncovered. This is the staple trait of a Chunibyo character in anime and serves no actual function for the character.
Fischl literally just wears her eyepatch because she thinks it makes her look cool and helps her play into her delusion.
5 She Hates Sweet Madama
While it's thought to decipher just what type of foods Fischl likes thanks to the strange way she addresses ingredients, Oz does reveal what she hates. Fischl despises Sweet Madame, an obtainable recipe in the world that is a combination of fowl and sweet flower, which makes a healing dish.
Fischl even talks about how sad the bird must be that they used to make the dish, possibly pointing to the fact she dislikes eating birds.
4 Her Parents Supported Her
Despite the fact that Fischl became infatuated with the world of books, her parents supported her. For a good portion of her life, they even addressed her as Fischl instead of Amy. This is likely because they were always traveling, which often left the young girl alone with her stories.
Her dad did seem to become less thrilled about his daughter's make-believe life as she got older, though.
3 She Had a Hard Time Making Friends
It may not surprise players to find out that when Fischl was young, she didn't really have any friends. This can be surmised from her parent's comment when she first brought home Oz. Instead of being shocked at the appearance of the magic bird, they were relieved that he liked their daughter.
Fischl seems to have locked herself away from most social situations, but Oz is helping her communicate with others.
2 She Got Oz on Her Birthday
After getting into a bad fight with her father over not using her real name, Fischl ran away to the library. It was here that she not only received her vision, but Oz appeared in front of her. Oz is likely the best birthday present the young girl could have ever received and helped her join the adventurers guild.
Oz himself seems to be quite happy with meeting Fischl, although he doesn't seem that fond of his name.
1 She Great at Gathering Information
Fischl isn't just another adventure; she actually gathers intelligence for the guild. This is likely why she was so involved with the meteorite event and how she deduces that the Traveler is actually from another world. Fischl is likely highly observant despite her made-up identity.
While Fischl hasn't been shown doing much other than talking to guards, she may even infiltrate enemy camps.
