Contrary to popular belief in Genshin Impact, Paimon is not the only food source in the game. There's a full-fledged cooking mechanic in the RPG that's quite similar to the one in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Moreover, the ingredients are all over the game world and are frequent enough. That very well means Paimon can take a breather because she won't be needed as an emergency food just yet.

Of course, like in most RPGs made from the Orient, efficiency is the name of the game. When it comes to cooking, balancing out the effectiveness-to-availability ratio is key to making sure that players never run out of food in the most crucial moments seeing as those function much like potions. So far, these are the best and most accessible food recipes in the current version of Genshin Impact.

Updated on January 22, 2021 by Jessica Thomas: Genshin Impact is a game that continues to amaze players by providing monthly content updates. It has already had a new region called Dragonspine introduced and now the company is gearing up for the Latern Rite festival in Liyue Harbor. With all the new game version comes plenty of new items, including recipes like Goulash to help the players manage the ever-changing world of Teyvat. Stronger enemies keep appearing, and even players that use healers like Barbara need a bit of extra support to tackle these opponents. To help players tackle boss fights, keep on their stamina, and brave sheer cold are the great recipes below.

15 Goulash

Goulash

Goulash is a recipe that players will receive after gathering frozen meat in Dragonspine. Goulash is the only food in the game that can help reduce the effects of sheer cold, making it much easier to explore the region. Goulash gives the play a .5% resistance to sheer cold for 200 seconeds.

To make it, the player will need two chilled meat, two carrots, and a tomato.

14 Golden Shrimp Balls

Golden Shrimp Balls

Golden Shrimp Balls is one of the best receive items players can have in their inventory. Surprisingly the recipe is pretty easy to make in large quantities. As one might have guessed, the main ingredient is shrimp, which can be bought in large quantities at the general goods store in Liyue Harbor.

To make the recipe, players need five shrimp, two potatoes, and three flower. When used, the recipe revives a character with 1,200 health.

13 Moon Pie

Moon Pie

Moon Pie takes a bit of work to unlock as it isn't available until players reach rank 7 in Mondstadt reputation. The dish is well worth it, though, as it increases shield strength by 30% and raises the party's defense by 200 points for a whopping 300 seconds, making it perfect for boss fights.

To make the recipe, players need four meat, four eggs, three butter, and two flour.

12 Sunshine Sprat

Sunshine Sprat

Sunshine Sprat is given to the player by Albedo during the second part of his story quest. The dish is perfect for parties who have shield uses like Zhong li or Xinyan. The dish will increase the strength of the shield by 250 for 300 seconds, a huge buff perfect for fighting tanky enemies.

To make the dish, players need to gather three fish, three butter, one small lamp grass, and salt.

11 Jueyun Gouna

Jueyun Gouna

Jueyun Gouna is the perfect dish for players that need a major stat boost. The recipe gives the player a 30% boost to their physical damage for 300 seconds. This recipe is easy to purchase at it is sold by Ms. Bai in Qingce Village for a simply 5,000 mora.

To make the recipe, players will need two horsetails, two rice, ham, and a jueyun chili.

10 Calla Lily Seafood Soup

Calla Lily Seafood Soup

For some players, prevention is better than cure. That means preparing to tank hits and mitigate damage is preferable to panic-healing. The Calla Lily Seafood Soup is perfect for people with that sort of mentality. It increases the Defense of all party members by 200 for 300 seconds or 5 minutes.

In a party with already tanky characters such as Noelle, players will soon forget that healing foods exist with a low amount of enemy damage. Not to mention this soup is easy to make and only needs 4 Crabs, 2 Mint, and 1 Calla Lily.

9 Barbatos Ratatouille

Barbatos Ratatouille

Stamina is often an underrated resource in Genshin Impact and many players ignore it. This is a mistake as Stamina easily makes players invulnerable with the right dodge timing. Of course, it runs out pretty quickly that way, which is why food like Barbatos Ratatouille is there to ensure that doesn't happen often.

This veggie cuisine reduces the party's stamina consumption by 20 percent and it lasts a whopping 900 seconds or 15 minutes, perfect for prolonged explorations and fights. Despite the benefits, it's a breeze to cook with just 4 of everything: Carrots, Tomatoes, and Onions.

8 Sauteed Matsutake

Sauteed Matsutake

Sometimes the best defense is a good offense and jacking up the whole party's attack or damage can ensure quicker fights before the enemy even gets in some nasty hits. The Sauteed Matsutake fills in this role as it grants a hefty 160 to 228 to ATK for 300 seconds.

Most artifacts usually only give two-digit increments to ATK, and those are already big so the players can imagine just how awesome the Sauteed Matsutake is in fights. The ingredients are not too rare either, 3 Matustakes, 3 Flour, 2 Pinecones, and 2 Butter.

7 Flaming Red Bolognese

Flaming Red Bolognese

It's as delicious and spicy as it sounds and even more helpful in-game as the Flaming Red Bolognese can heal for as much as 18-22% of Max HP depending on the character. Additionally, it will keep restoring 300-470 HP every 5 seconds for the next 30 seconds.

While not exactly the best panic button healing spell, it's good for endurance fights especially against bosses with big and damaging attacks. It's currently one of the best heal food available and is quite cheap for its effect, only costing 2 Flour, 2 Raw Meat, and 1 Tomato.

6 Mondstadt Hash Brown

Mondstadt Hash Brown

Now, for players in high-enough Adventure Ranks looking to restore the most HP after some grueling fights or big mistakes, then the Mondstadt Hash Brown reigns supreme. Each serving restores any character's health by 30%-34% of Max HP.

As a bonus, they also get 600-1,900 flat HP back. It's also one of the most easy-to-make food with the highest healing amount as it only requires 2 Pinecones, 1 Potato, and 1 Jam. The Jam might be tricky since it needs to be refined but there are also ready-made ones in the city shops. Meanwhile, pinecones and potatoes are as common as fallen leaves.

5 Noodles With Mountain Delicacies

Noodles With Mountain Delicacies

Running out of Stamina while climbing a mountain or gliding over the sea is one sure way to lose a character and waste some revival food. That's why emergency food that isn't Paimon, such as Noodles with Mountain Delicacies can be a godsend.

It restores a flat amount of 80 Stamina which is handy for whenever players miscalculate the height of a mountain or the distance to a gliding or swimming spot. It's also not that hard to make and players only need 3 Mushrooms, 2 Raw Meat, and 1 Flour which can also be bought if refinement is too much.

4 Jade Parcels

Jade Parcels

By far one of the best damage boosts in the game, Jade Parcels are a must-have for any boss fight or Abyss run. This dumpling with cabbage as the wrap gives a whopping 224~320 boost to ATK and with the cherry on top 6-10% CRIT Rate, all for 300 full seconds.

For most parties, that's enough time to make quick work of a tough boss. They probably won't even be able to use all of that duration with this beastly supplement. Don't expect it to be an easy meal to cook though as it requires 3 Lotus Heads, 2 Jueyun Chilis, 2 Cabbages, and 1 Ham.

3 Sweet Madame

Sweet Madame

Apart from the Mondstadt Hash Brown which is harder to make, there is another food that heals for a ton like the poultry delight, Sweet Madame. It gives back 22% of Max HP to any character plus an additional flat 1200 HP.

It might not be as generous as the Mondstadt Hash Brown but at least the ingredients are easier to obtain. Players only need 2 Fowl and 2 Sweet Flowers. Both are obtainable in the open world by being a destructive wanderer.

2 Teyvat Fried Egg

Teyvat Fried Egg

Since food is practically the potions in Genshin Impact, it would only make sense for the potions to be cheap as dirt and not take too much effort to make. It just so happens that Teyvat Fried Egg fits that description well.

It's but a mere revival food that restores a bonus 50 to 150 HP per character. However, it only costs 1 Bird Egg. Those are easily found in trees, making the Teyvat Fried Egg a potion that grows anywhere.

1 Crab, Ham & Veggie Bake

Crab, Ham & Veggie Bake

For the current best revival food in Genshin Impact, nothing can beat the Crab, Ham & Veggie Bake (ignore the missing Oxford comma). It's also known as the Baked Vegetable Pie. This lovely morsel revives any downed character and heals them.

It has the current highest healing given by a revive food in Genshin Impact at around 900 to 1,500 HP depending on the quality or who cooked it. Sadly, despite being the best revive food, players still can't use it to revived downed co-op teammates. It requires just 1 Crab, 1 Ham, 1 Cream, and 1 Cabbage.
