Genshin Impact recently gave all its players 240 Primogens as compensation for the server downtime required for maintenance. The premium currency was paid out at a rate of 60 Primogems per hour of downtime, with a minimum payout of 240.

According to the developer blog, the server needed to be taken down "while update maintenance [was] in progress." The update was scheduled for yesterday between 7:00am to 11:00am UTC+8, so the servers are back up and running, and your Primogem wallets should be a bit fatter.

There only requirement was that you had to be Adventure Rank 5 before maintenance began. miHoYo sent out the currency using the in-game mail system a few hours after the server downtime ended, so if you haven't checked your inbox, be sure to do so soon. Genshin Impact mail only sticks around for 30 days, at which point it's deleted.

Genshin Impact has been a roaring success, making over $100 million within two weeks of release. The developer clearly cares about the community, and if it keeps treating its players to premium currency during downtime, I doubt we'll hear a lot of complaints when unexpected maintenance inevitably rolls around.

Genshin Impact is available on PS4, PC, iOS, and Android.
