Genshin Impact's Spiral Abyss is just a more intensive Challenge Tower. In each Chamber, players can earn anything between one and three stars, making up a total of nine stars per Floor. But, after Floor 8, players advance into the Abyssal Moon Spire, which holds floors 9 through 12.

These floors start getting insanely difficult, and it's where a lot of players hit a wall with Genshin Impact. Though for anyone struggling with other aspects of the game, this guide hub should be able to help. However, this guide, in particular, will be focusing on the little things players need to know about making it all to the bottom of Floor 12, Chamber 3.

Here's a condensed list of all the major tips, with specific questions players might have about these tips answered below:

Genshin Impact: Entering The Spiral Abyss At Musk Reef

  • Having two healers is a must.
  • Elemental Reactions are everything (Melt, Frozen, Overloaded, Crystallize, etc).
  • Be patient and level up the team, four LVL 60s just won't cut it.
  • Plan teams out per Floor, learn where the most annoying enemies spawn.
  • Any character that has an Elemental Burst with cinematic flair is super useful.
  • Get two Hydro characters, if possible, since Barbara can't be on two teams.
  • Try and put an archer on each team if applicable.
  • Artifact Sets and Talent LVLs matter.
  • Level more than two teams' worth of characters, for more options.
  • Don't spam dash as much as usual, Stamina is more important for these Floors.

Why Is Having Two Healers So Important?

Genshin Impact: All The Healers Genshin Has To Offer

As the damage enemies inflict ramps up insanely fast in these higher floors, one healer is simply not going to be enough. When all the Fatui, the mysterious masked faction of Teyvat, start spamming their attacks at once (like in the second half of 9-2) a full health DPS can get KO'd in less than a second.

Healers ranked from best to worst: Jean, Barbara, Qiqi, Bennett, Noelle, and Diona.

Players Need To Learn Where Enemies Spawn?

Genshin Impact: Those Incredibly Annoying Abyss Mages

This point is primarily important for healing mobs. Simply put, being able to take out the Fatui Hydrogunner or the Hydro Abyss Mage before they even get their elemental shields will shorten the clear time by a lot. Basically, hit them where it hurts before they can even get started. Be proactive rather than reactive.

Why Put So Much Focus On Hydro Characters?

This comes down to the way Pyro shields work. Pyro Abyss Mages and Fatui Pyroslingers are incredibly annoying if players don't have a way to get rid of their shields quickly, and the only way to do that is with Hydro damage. Cryo/Electro can help, but it doesn't pop them nearly as well as Hydro does. In particular, at 10-3, players can hit quite the wall thanks to the Fatui Pyroslinger, with only Barbara to help them out.

What Are Cinematic Elemental Bursts And Why Would Players Need Them?

Genshin Impact: Venti Using His Elemental Burst

Characters like Barbara, Venti, Keqing, Qiqi, Mona, Diluc, Klee, Tartaglia, or even Zhongli (the new character with tons of complaints) all have these Elemental Burst skills that zoom in on them, spin around with cinematic angles, and are uninterruptible until they end. While these are playing out, enemies can't hit the character, so they work as a great way to let out a big burst of damage with little to no risk, which is so important against some enemies.

How High Level Should Artifacts Be, Why Is Stamina More Important?

Genshin Impact: Chongyun Decked Out In 5-Star Artifacts

Up until Floor 9, the Spiral Abyss basically just needed players to have a team of 50-60+ characters with any Artifacts that were decently leveled up enough. But, past this point, players need to be using 5-Star artifact sets if they can, and they should be at least LVL 8 if not 12.

In regards to Stamina, there are just a lot more moves that can quickly ruin a run if a player isn't able to dash out of the way or away from it. There's stuff like those Cryo prisons that come up out of the ground, constant Geo damage that occurs in a specific area, Anemoboxer punches that can only be dodged right as they're coming out, and Slimes ground pounds.
