We're just over a month away from the release of Honkai: Star Rail, the upcoming turn-based free-to-play RPG from Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse. We know Honkai: Star Rail will arrive on mobile and PC on April 26, but now we also know that it'll have a release on PlayStation too.Writing on the PlayStation Blog, HoYoverse lead programmer Yang Yu confirmed Honkai: Star Rail's impending PlayStation release. "Honkai: Star Rail will launch on PlayStation in the near future," wrote Yu. "We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who is supporting Honkai: Star Rail."Related: Honkai: Star Rail Gamescom Preview - Turn-Based Genshin's Turn In The SunHonkai: Star Rail is actually the fourth entry into the Honkai series and the sequel to Honkai Impact 3rd. However, it takes place in an alternate universe to Impact, so while some of the characters may seem familiar, they're actually different. This'll make Star Rail appeal to series veterans but be welcoming to newcomers as there's no real need to have played any of the previous games.

In Honkai: Star Rail, you play as someone touched by the "Aeons"--the Honkai universe's gods. The only problem is, you've been touched by the Aeon called Destruction who implanted you with a Stellaron. These seeds of destruction have been known to cause "massive changes to ecosystems," and as we're finding out in real-life, ecosystem changes usually mean mass extinctions. That's bad.

To discover the true nature of the Stellaron, you embark on a journey across the galaxy. First, you'll start on Herta Space Station before deciding to head to the icy planet of Jarilo-VI or the massive spaceship Xianzhou Luofu where the inhabitants are effectively immortal. There will be lots of characters to find and add to your party throughout your journey, and even more challenges for your party to overcome.

PlayStation didn't say exactly when Honkai: Star Rail would hit its platform and it also didn't say whether it'd be native on the PS4 or PS5. Given how the game is going to arrive on iOS, Android, and Windows PC on April 26, I’d assume the PlayStation release will be sometime soon after.
