Genshin Impact's 2.0 live stream may have already announced Sangonomiya Kokomi's arrival for 2021, but Mihoyo is finally revealing a bit more about the divine priestess in her new character reveal. As usual, Kokomi is getting the story teaser treatment, and it sounds like she has a lot of responsibility.

Back in the big Inazuma preview, Mihoyo announced it would bring Thoma, Sara, the Raiden Shogun, and Kokomi to its growing roster. Sangonomiya Kokomi—also known as the Pearl of Wisdom—channels her water-based abilities in moves that summon jellyfish. Her adorable little friends focus on both healing Kokomi and taking out her enemies, dealing Hydro damage as they go.

Kokomi's new trailer loses the focus on her battle prowess and instead turns its eye to her story conflict. As the heir to the Sangonomiya line, the divine priestess bears the responsibility of meeting the "hopes of her people." Her ability to stand up to the challenge doesn't seem like something those around her have much faith in, but Kokomi seems unconcerned with the hesitation. In the new footage, she fires back that perhaps she's not a skilled governess, but her skills instead lie in the "art of war." You can check the preview out yourself below.

Given Mihoyo's long pattern and history of releases, it's safe to assume all of this fuss means Kokomi is next in line for her big banner release in version 2.1. Mihoyo hasn't officially announced when she'll launch, but the current banner for the Raiden Shogun is over next week, leaving Kokomi an opening to hit up Teyvat on September 21. Regardless, of the exact day, it does look like she's coming up soon, so save those pity rolls.
