Obtainable through Wishes in Genshin Impact, Kuki Shinobu is the right-hand gal to Arataki Itto. Originally from the Inazuma region, Kuki is an Electro user, and prefers to fight with a sword.

She’s known for her stoic appearance and mysterious personal life, but she’s also a free spirit. She left her family to join the gang — despite being far more talented with a weapon than the other members — because she longed for independence and the freedom to live how she found fit. As her colorful wardrobe suggests, Kuki is all about living without expectations or rules.

8 Improve Her HP Stat

Kuki is the first Electro healer in Genshin, so having her will come in handy. In order to keep her viable for battle, you’ll want to boost her HP as quickly as possible. Her damage will also scale with her HP, making it doubly important to improve this stat first.

From there, you can begin focusing on her Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge. These two stats will work alongside her HP to create a well-rounded support for your team. If you want to make her a stronger fighter, you can enhance her Crit DMG and Crit Rate.

7 Use Her Electro Damage

Kuki deals decent Electro damage from her Elemental Skill, so it’s best to use her element whenever possible. This can also open her up to being more than just the team’s healer, and depending on how you’ve compiled your team, she can act as one of the two main damage dealers.

If you’re familiar with Beidou, Kuki is very similar in battle. The key difference is where Beidou will do the most damage with her Elemental Burst, Kuki’s Elemental Skill is the better option.

6 Pick Your Team Composition Well

There are two different ways to build a team around Kuki that will maximize her abilities. You can use her as the healer, which allows for a much more diverse team around her, or you can use her as the sub-DPS, which will mean being more deliberate with teammates.

If you’ve been wanting to make an Electro team, Kuki is definitely the healer you’ve been waiting for. If you want to pair her with Cryo and Hydro users, she’ll be a strong sub-DPS, especially when you’ve developed her Elemental Skill.

5 Some Artifacts Are Better

The Tenacity of Millelith Artifact set is the best possible option for Kuki because it will give her HP the boost it needs, and then her other stats can scale off that max HP. You can match a two-piece set of Tenacity of Millelith with a two-piece set of Maiden’s Beloved to really get the most of a healer Kuki.

If you want to make Kuki a sub-DPS, you can replace the Maiden’s Beloved two-piece set with the Noblesse Oblige two-piece set. This will boost her Burst damage for stronger attacks.

4 Make A Taser Team

While you can make a full Electro team now that there’s an Electro healer, you can also add her to a taser team to get a truly shocking lineup. When building this team, it’s best to have at least one other Electro user and one Hydro. You can use another Hydro as the fourth member, or another element.

Potential party members for this composition include Fischl or Beidou for another Electro and Barbara and Ayato for the Hydro. Using Barbara is helpful because she can act as a healer if you want Kuki to be a source of damage.

3 Swap Her Out

Kuki’s Elemental Burst takes a lot of energy, so you’ll want to alternate characters frequently. This is especially true if you’ve built her as a sub-DPS, because she won’t have time to recharge quickly enough to do tons of damage.

If you’ve built Kuki to be your team healer, you most likely won’t have her on the battlefield much anyway. No matter how you’ve built her, it’s important to manage the time she’s actually fighting, so that her abilities are used in the most helpful way for the team as a whole.

2 Weapon Substats

When picking out her sword, try to find one that offers Elemental Mastery as the substat. Regardless of her build, Kuki will benefit from having her Elemental Mastery improved, because it will boost her damage — even if it’s in short spurts.

Luckily, there are a few swords that have this substat that will work with Kuki. Among them are the Freedom-Sworn, the Alley Flash, and the Iron Sting, all of which are reasonably easy to obtain. They each have a decent boost to base ATK, as well, to give Kuki a bit more physical damage in-between energy recharges.

1 Don’t Assume Burst Is Better

It’s not often in Genshin Impact that the Elemental Skill is the better move, but with Kuki it is definitely the case. As stated above, you can improve her Elemental Burst with enhancements, but her Skill starts out strong — so it makes sense to continue advancing its damage.

You’ll find this is helpful with a healer build or a sub-DPS build, whereas building up her Burst doesn’t make much sense for her as a team healer.
