Looks like Genshin Impact's next update, version 1.6, may be making its way to the game pretty soon. Developer Mihoyo has announced an upcoming Special Program livestream for this Friday, May 28, that will detail what fans can expect with this newest version. While the Special Program will share news on version 1.6, like an anticipated release date, it will also be offering special gifts for fans.

In a post to its website, Mihoyo announced the upcoming Special Program for version 1.6. While details on what the livestream will offer were pretty light, it does promise that fans will learn all of the "juicy details" for version 1.6. A few leaks have also given some hints about what fans can expect. Most notably, a leak concerning new costumes was spread throughout Twitter. The leak suggested that sisters Jean and Barbara would be receiving summer-themed skins/costumes. If this leak turns out to be true, then the livestream will likely offer information on how to obtain the skins and/or how much they will cost.

Other leaks for version 1.6 suggest that a banner for Kazuha will be revealed, as well as a new Sword and Anemo character for Inazuma. Also, the character Klee is included in the visuals for the live stream, hinting that she may receive a banner rerun.

The post also shared that, along with all of the information on version 1.6, fans can expect to receive "redemption codes and other incredible gifts that we prepared especially for you". While these events usually offer a collection of gift codes for fans, the mention of other "incredible gifts" is interesting. Perhaps the developer has something special planned for the event to coincide with the upcoming update.

Previous updates have been spaced about a month apart from one another. Version 1.4 released back in March with the latest release, version 1.5, hitting games last month. Therefore, it is likely that 1.6 will be made available in the next couple of weeks.

The 1.6 Special Program will be live-streamed on Friday, May 28 at 12:00 PM ET/9:00 AM PT over on the game's official YouTube page.
