Genshin Impact has been out for less a month, but it's already taking the world by storm. It recently passed the 640,000 member mark on its official Discord, overtaking Fortnite's count and on pace to outnumber the Minecraft server within the next few days.

At the time of writing, Genshin Impact has 646,519 members on its Discord server. Fortnite, meanwhile, only has 620,942 – and has been available for years on nearly every platform you can imagine (except iOS). Then there's Minecraft, the beloved crafting game that's been on the market since 2009. Despite that lifespan, it only has 648,730 Discord members, just a few thousand more than Genshin Impact.

Of course, Discord isn't the only way to measure a game's popularity, but it's shocking to see how fast the Genshin Impact community has grown. It's subreddit isn't nearly as popular as Fortnite's or Minecraft – both have well over a million followers, while Genshin Impact has 400K – but that's still incredible growth for a game released last month.

Beyond amassing a large online following, the game pulled in over $100 million within two weeks of its debut – a feat typically only achieved by the most popular of triple-A titles. For a game that was developed by a fairly unknown company and launched without much fanfare, there's no doubt Genshin Impact is exceeding all expectations.

It's safe to say Genshin Impact won't be fading away anytime soon. Offering a beautiful world to explore, an accessible – yet complex – combat system, and lovable characters to collect, the appeal of Genshin Impact is clear. There's also rumors that a bunch of new characters, quests, and events will be added in the near future, giving players even more content to explore.

Genshin Impact released last month on September 28. It's only available on PlayStation 4, PC, and iOS/Android, but that hasn't stopped it from amassing a large following of players. It's free-to-play, too, which has likely helped boost its playercount, although you can drop real cash to summon new characters and pick up a few extra perks.

And, by the time you're reading this, it probably has more Discord members than Minecraft.
