Genshin Impact is getting back at review bombers by way of exciting new content. The latest Update 2.3 has just been launched and is said to be filled to the brim, introducing new characters — both good and evil — and hosting several events. The update also includes new weapons and the introduction of a fancy new gadget that elicited an immediate and wildly passionate response from the players when there was first talk of it in the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms Livestream Announcements.

Of course, we're talking about the Omni-Ubiquity Net, the Poke Ball-like device that has Genshin players declaring their new ambitions to catch 'em all. This gadget is said to copy animal forms to collect in a teapot — so, what's it all for?

Updated on December 9, 2021 by Kim Dailey: These Warrior Dog quests are turning out to be more than we bargained for. Still, since the event is our gateway to replicating tiny pets and keeping them in our Serenitea Pots, we have no choice but to tackle the challenges head-on. So we are back with what we have gathered from the event so far and will update you further as we learn more.

What is The Omni-Ubiquity Net?

Omni-Ubiquity Net new gadget explanation Genshin Impact

To be fair, the Pokemon comparison is an apt one, given that the glowing green device does hold some resemblance to a Poke Ball and pulls off the same physical phenomenon of dematerializing living creatures and storing them in tiny devices. The Omni-Ubiquity Net claims to "detain the essence" of small animals you capture and house them in your Serenitea Pot. Here's how it works.

The first step is to find an animal and target it with the Omni-Ubiquity Net. But, make note that the device is still in its early stages of development and won't be able to copy the essence of all the animals you come across just yet; the ones that can will be indicated in the Archive with a special Net symbol. Once you've captured a small creature, you'll use the Net again to re-create the animal's form within your Serenitea Pot.

How to Get The Omni Ubiquity Net?

The Omni-Ubiquity Net can be unlocked through the Bantan Sango Case Files: The Warrior Dog event, which started on December 7 and will run through December 20. Event participants are getting to test out the Net while rescuing little creatures and stunning Canine Bunshin. However, the quests that are unfolding throughout the event are causing undue grief for many travelers. So let's take a look at what's going on so far.

Quest

Start Date

Mystery of The Black Widow

December 7 at 10 AM

Stealthy Trail

December 9 at 4 PM

The Truth (Just About) Comes To Light

December 11 at 4 PM

Recognition

December 13 at 4 PM

Once they go live, each quest will be available to complete through the end of the event at 4 PM on December 20, 2021. Here are the basic steps for completing the quests that are currently underway.

Mystery of The Black Widow

  1. Find Katheryne at the Adventurer's Guild stall in Inazuma.
  2. Head to the Bantan Sango Detective Agency, further up the road and around the bend.
  3. Find and approach the investigation site, which will be guarded by a dog.
  4. Rescue the small animals from the cage. (Avoid the guard.)
  5. Reconvene with Ryuuji.
  6. Head to the next investigation site with more trapped animals.
  7. Defeat three waves of enemies guarding the caged animals.

Here are the enemies you'll have to defeat during the last phase of the quest:

1st Wave

Treasure Hoarder Seaman x1 - He hits hard and fast with little control over their direction and burns out quickly. Focus on dodging then haul in on them when they stop for a breath.

Treasure Hoarder Crusher x1 - Wielding a giant sledgehammer, they move slow but their strikes inflict far more grievous wounds than the average fighter. Avoidance is key here.

Treasure Hoarder Pugilist x1 - An agile fighter, dangerous in both close quarters and at a range. Give him space and wait for an opportunity to knock him out of stride then continue hauling in before he can regroup.

2nd Wave

Nobushi Jintouban x2 - Adept swordsmen with a natural resistance to the elements. Your best bet taking on two of them is going to be targeting their weakness to physical damage and avoiding their slashing charge attacks, which you can predict by the glint on their swords as they unsheath them.

3rd Wave

Kairagi: Fiery Might x1 - The Pyro counterpart to the Electro Kairagi: Dancing Thunder, this Kairagi attacks with a flame-enchanted sword. You may use some Hydro and Cryo abilities to negate the Pyro effects, but physical damage is again going to be the most effective against the Kairagi: Fiery Might.

Stealthy Trail

  1. The first step is to wait until the next day.
  2. Between 6 am and 9 pm the next day, head to the Bantan Sango Detective Agency.
  3. At this investigation site there will be two points of interest:
    1. Den of Thieves, with two Small Animals to be saved.
    2. Hiding Spot, with three Small Animals to be saved.
  4. Reconvene with Ryuuji to finish up the quest.

You can free the animals at either point of interest first, but you may not be surprised to learn you'll run into some opposition at the Den of Thieves.

1st Wave

Nobushi Jintouban x2

Nobushi Hitsukeban x1 - Another Pyro unit that utilizes saltpeter in their swordsmanship. Give them a wide birth and attack with physical attacks when possible.

Nobushi Kikouban x1 - These samurai are lethal with their sword attacks alone, but they will also fire an electro-charged crossbow if you manage to keep out of their range. Deft agility is really the only way around these guys.

2nd Wave

Nobushi Jintouban x2

Kairagi: Dancing Thunder x1 - This Electro Kairagi attacks similarly to it's Pyro counterpart, just with an electro-charged blade. Give it a wide birth to give yourself the best opportunity to evade its energized attacks, and counter it with as much physical damage as possible.

After completing all the Warrior Dog quests, the Omni-Ubiquity Net will become permanently obtainable when the event draws to a close by undergoing the related World Quests. Those will be the Archon Quest, Chapter II: Act I - "The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia" and the World Quest, "Omni-Ubiquity Net." Of course, you will also have to unlock the Serenitea Pot in order to house your furry friends. This requires achieving Adventure Rank 35 and completing the Archon Quest, Chapter I: Act III – "A New Star Approaches."
