Mihoyo is well aware of the reaction to Genshin Impact's anniversary rewards and has issued a statement to TheGamer revealing what it has planned.

Genshin Impact officially turned one this week and announced a handful of ways in which it planned on marking the occasion. However, many of its players have deemed the anniversary rewards in offer not good enough considering the milestone. Pretty much every available avenue that can be used to let their feelings known has been at this point.

Twitter, Discord, Genshin's Google Play reviews, and even the review sections of games completely unrelated to Mihoyo and Genshin Impact have been suffering for what the game's community has deemed a lackluster celebration. If you have been busy trying to make sure Mihoyo hears your complaints, then you can stop. The studio has issued a statement to TheGamer confirming that it is well aware of the backlash.

Genshin Impact Where To Watch

“We’ve been paying close attention on various feedbacks regarding Genshin Impact first anniversary,” the statement reads. “The opinions and feedbacks from players and fans are really valuable to us, and we wish all fans will continue the adventure and collect more cherished memories in Teyvat.” It also reveals that it has more ways to celebrate Genshin's first anniversary in the works.

“We’ve already come up with more celebrations including the coming Genshin Impact online concert and thank-you gifts to express our gratitude on players’ support all the way along.” In-game concerts have been big business for Fortnite, but it's unclear how it will appease Genshin players demanding better birthday rewards. The thank you gifts might help, but it ultimately depends on what they are, of course.

Hopefully, the reveal that Mihoyo is listening and coming up with more anniversary ideas will stave off the angry mob for now. Genshin Impact's two Discord servers are almost unusable right now as unhappy players continue to spam them with emojis. It's also not great that other mobile games are being hit with bad reviews which makes very little sense.
