Yae Miko is a powerful Electro-user in Genshin Impact. She oversees the Grand Narukami Shrine, and also acts as the owner and operator of the Yae Publishing House. She has a vast backstory that you’ve learned in the game while she was only an NPC, and her storyline is getting richer as a playable character.

She’s well-known for her extensive knowledge, bookworm ways, and is defined by her kindness. Often portrayed with a smile on her face, Yae Miko is a light-hearted person despite her list of serious titles. At the same time, many note that she can be blunt and even somewhat selfish when talking to the Traveler and Paimon.

10 Progressing Yae Miko's Skills

Almost all of Yae Miko’s combat revolves around her use of the Saura Fox Turrets, which means you’ll want to level her up based on that ability. Her talents lie chiefly in her Elemental Skill, so that should be your first area of concern.

Once you have her Elemental Skill high, you can then focus on her Elemental Burst because it’s decent, though not as good as her Skill. After both of those have been leveled up, you can add to her Normal Attack, which is her weakest area in battle.

9 Yae Miko's Constellations

Luckily, the best parts of Miko's Constellation are C1 and C2. C1- known as Yakan Offering - gives Yae Miko eight Elemental Energy credits back when a Tenko Thunderbolt has been activated.

C2 - known as Fox’s Mooncall - boosts the Sesshou Sakura attack range to 60 percent, and increases their max level to four. This is handy on its own, but it will also allow you to build upon it with other Constellation points.

8 Yae Miko’s Opening Act

Genshin Yae Miko Widsith

Since her Saura Fox Turrets are responsible for most, if not all, of the damage Yae Miko doles out, you want to lead with them. When you bring her out on the field, start with her Elemental Skill three times, then use her Elemental Burst once.

By this time, Yae Miko will be out of energy and in her cooldown period, so swap her out with someone else on your team - but don’t worry, her Electro Catalyst will still be dealing damage to enemies from off-field.

7 Strong Weapons Make Strong Fighters

Yae Miko’s Normal Attack is pretty bare-bones, unfortunately, so you’ll need to compensate with strong weapons. Focus on high crit damage and Attack boosts from her selection of Catalysts - for example, Kagura’s Verity or Widsith.

With the right weapon in her hand, Yae Miko can be quite formidable with her Normal Attack. However, her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst go a long way in a fight, so picking the weapon should be about boosting her worth on the team, not ‘redeeming’ her where she lacks.

6 Building Yae Miko On A Budget

Genshin Impact Hakushin Ring

The best free-to-play weapon you can pair Yae Miko with is the Hakushin Ring. Though it doesn’t offer a massive crit damage boost, it is a solid pick as a four-star weapon that you can forge yourself.

Its main benefit is the Energy Recharge it offers - between six and 30 percent depending on level - something that will come in handy with an easily tiring Yae Miko.

5 Versatile Artifacts For Yae Miko

Yae Miko is rare among Genshin Impact characters because she works with nearly all of the Artifacts. As long as you’re focusing on equipping her with Artifacts that will boost her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, you’ll find it easy to set her up.

If you want to make her a hard hitter and improve her damage, you want to use the Thundering Fury set specifically. You can also pair the Thundering Fury Artifacts with some from the Wanderer’s Troupe set to achieve similar results.

4 She Needs A Secondary Charge

No matter how you build a team with Yae Miko, always make sure to have at least one other Electro-user in the group to help give her a boost. If this isn’t an option for you, you’ll need her weapon to have an Energy Recharge stat or substat.

Yae Miko drains easily - mainly because her best attacks are also her strongest - so you’ll be pulling her out of the field frequently. Even more so if you don’t have an Electro-user to charge her back up again.

3 Call A Doctor For Support

Qiqi Burst ability

Another key component to a Yae Miko team should be a Healer- Qiqi, Barbara, or even Noelle will suffice. This is true of all teams in Genshin Impact, but because Yae Miko only provides large amounts of damage in short bursts, you’ll want her to stay alive - something she won’t be able to do on her own.

Yae Miko doesn’t heal naturally, and as an offensive fighter, she doesn’t have much in the way of defensive, meaning she’ll rely heavily on her teammates to keep her shielded and healthy in a battle.

2 She’s Your Support

Plan to use Yae Miko as your team’s Sub-DPS, but never a main. Yae Miko has a limited Normal Attack, and even when beefed up and equipped with weapons and Artifacts that can boost her Normal Attack, it’s still weak.

Her strong Elemental Burst and Electro-Catalyst abilities, however, make her an amazing Sub-DPS because she can pop in to hit enemies with large sums of damage, then you rotate her out until she’s ready for another strong burst.

1 Miko Works Best With Raiden Shogun

Genshin Impact Itto Team 3 raiden shogun

Yae Miko works the absolute best in a team with Raiden Shogun - who also happens to be her best friend off the battlefield. Both girls’ element is Electro, so this helps with keeping a battery around for Yae Miko, and their skills complement one another since Raiden Shogun’s Normal Attack is fairly strong.

If you don’t have Raiden Shogun, you can also use Fischl, another strong Electro-user, who can build off of Yae Miko’s strong Elemental Burst to make for a solid foundation for your team.
