Released way back at Genshin Impact's launch, Razor is an Electro claymore wielder who is still loved by fans of the game today. This scruffy warrior was raised by wolves and knows his way around the battlefield, potentially making him a fun and useful addition to your team.
While not often used in Genshin Impact's most competitive teams, Razor is a fantastic character for newer players. His abilities are simple and effective, and he can comfortably fill the role of your team's main DPS. Razor is also quite easy to build, especially for free-to-play players, so this guide will show you how to properly train your new, wolfish companion.

For a solid three-star claymore, look no further than Skyrider Greatsword. Despite being a lower rarity weapon, this claymore can really accelerate Razor's potential. The Physical DMG Bonus complements Razor's Physical-heavy damage profile, while this weapon's passive ability is exceptionally strong. At Refinement Level Five, Skyrider Greatsword will increase Razor's ATK by a maximum of 40 percent, which is a bonus that many five-star weapons would be jealous of. Definitely don't overlook this weapon just because its Base ATK is lower.
Serpent Spine is a freebie recommendation for claymore wielders in Genshin Impact. This weapon, which can be obtained via the game's Battle Pass, is simply one of the strongest four-star weapons in the game if you're willing to pay for it. Crit Rate as a secondary stat is very valuable, and Serpent Spine's passive will boost Razor's damage significantly. Consider pairing Razor with a shielding character if you use this weapon so that you don't lose passive stacks as easily.
Prototype Archaic is a great free-to-play, four-star claymore option for Razor. It can be Forged on your own with a Claymore Billet, and it offers formidable Base ATK with a decent passive. This is a workhorse weapon for sure.
The thematically-fitting Wolf's Gravestone is Razor's five-star claymore of choice. Any five-star claymore will be effective on Razor, but this one is the best of the best. High Base ATK, a flat 20 percent ATK increase, and then a further team-wide ATK buff all make this claymore incredibly strong. If your Razor has been a very good boy, you can give him this weapon as a treat.

Artifact Set Analysis
For most purposes, Razor's best Artifact set is four pieces of Pale Flame. The initial 25 percent increased Physical DMG Bonus will enhance the majority of Razor's damage output, while the Four-Piece Set Bonus is extremely easy for Razor to meet the requirements of. Razor's Elemental Skill is on a short cooldown (which can even be reset by casting his Elemental Burst), meaning that you should be able to obtain 100 percent uptime on Pale Flame's four-piece effect.
If you can't assemble a full set of Pale Flame Artifacts, then two pieces of Pale Flame and two pieces of Bloodstained Chivalry is your next best bet. This will give you a Physical DMG Bonus of 50%. Four-pieces of Bloodstained Chivalry is not recommended because the effect can be hard to trigger against tougher opponents. Plus, Razor cannot use his Charged Attack during his Burst anyway.
Two pieces of Pale Flame/Bloodstained Chivalry and two pieces of Gladiator's Finale is also acceptable for a low-investment Razor build. It'll usually get the job done, but try to assemble a full Pale Flame set if you want to optimize your wolf boy's damage.
Artifact Stats
As an on-field DPS character, Razor's ideal Artifact stats are straightforward. ATK% Sands, Physical DMG Bonus Goblets, and Crit Rate/DMG Circlets will serve Razor well, allowing him to be the physical powerhouse he was designed to be. An ATK% Goblet can be better in a very specific situation, but generally Physical DMG Bonus Goblets should be your selection.
As far as Artifact sub-stats go, Crit Rate/DMG and ATK% are the name of the game. Some Energy Recharge is helpful as well, but keep in mind that Razor already has several passive abilities that help him recharge his Burst faster.
Elemental Mastery should ideally be avoided since Razor doesn't benefit much from Elemental Reactions (except Superconduct, but that's used for its Physical RES decrease, not its individual damage).
Razor's Talents And Constellations
Razor's Talents
Since Razor will be taking up a lot of field time and actively using all of his abilities, you can level up his Talents pretty equally. Razor's Normal Attacks should be the first priority, followed by his Burst and then his Skill, but ideally you'll want these all to end up around the same level.
Razor's Constellations
Razor has some interesting Constellations, but you should know that Razor's gameplay is essentially the same whether you're at C0 or C6. If you do happen to own a few copies of Razor, though, here's what to look out for.
Razor's C1 is a small yet consistent buff to Razor's damage every time he collects an Elemental Particle. This is decent, but Razor typically has a hard time generating Elemental Particles for himself while in his Burst.
C2 boosts Razor's Crit Rate against weak enemies, but it's a minimal boost with a tight activation window.
Razor's C3 and C5 increase the levels of his Burst and Skill, respectively. This type of Constellation is almost always good.
Wolvendom's ambassador has a C4 that's surprisingly impactful, lowering the DEF of opponents who are hit by his Skill by 15 percent. DEF reduction is hard to come by in Genshin Impact, so this Constellation can be valuable.
Finally, Razor's C6 adds a lightning strike effect to his next attack every ten seconds. This effect is more bark than bite, but hey, at least it looks cool.
