Mihoyo released a free Genshin Impact soundtrack earlier this week, letting you enjoy the soothing music of Teyvat without having to worry about those pesky Hilichurls interrupting your tunes.
The full album title is a mouthful – The Genshin Impact Release Commemorative OST - Mondstadt Chapter: "City of Winds and Idylls" – but you'll definitely want to give it a listen if you're a fan of the game. I'm not quite sure what Genshin Impact is commemorating since it's only been on the market for about a month, although, if I had to guess, Mihoyo is probably celebrating the buckets of cash the game's made in such a short time.
City of Winds and Idylls is composed of three discs containing 63 songs and is composed by Yu-Peng Chen. The entire album is available for free on YouTube, with each disc listed as its own YouTube video. The sweeping orchestral score in Genshin Impact is on full display with the commemorative album, and we're glad Mihoyo decided to let fans download it in its entirety completely free of charge.
Genshin Impact isn't hurting for cash, having pulled in $250 million within a month of release. It's by far one of the most popular games on the market right now, with a Discord community that rivals the size of both Fortnite and Minecraft. Mihoyo is gearing up to release Update 1.1, which should bring with it a few significant changes – and hopefully remappable controls.
Whether Genshin Impact will continue to thrive once PS5 and Xbox Series X/S hit the market in a few weeks is a big question that fans are curious to have answered. It's been confirmed that it'll run on PS5, but with so many next-gen games competing for players' attention, it'll be interesting to see how Mihoyo adapts to the changing marketplace.
