Healers might not have been in the meta for the first few months of Genshin Impact, but HoYoverse did a great job at releasing newer enemies and artifact sets that made them viable. This was done around the same time when Sangonomiya Kokomi was released to the game in the lands of Inazuma.

Genshin Impact: 5 Pro Tips For Playing As Yaoyao
Yaoyao was the first Dendro character released in Genshin Impact who isn't from Sumeru, and she brings a lot to the table.

She's a five-star Hydro character using a Catalyst as her weapon. Her kit was initially quite broken and the developers had to add a major nerf to one of her passives. However, she can still be viable in multiple compositions if you build her properly.

The Best Sangonomiya Kokomi Build

Sangonomiya Kokomi's entire kit is based around healing her allies while she can take the field to prevent them from damage at the same time. She can also get a buff to her Normal, Charged, and Skill DMG when she uses her Ultimate, but this increase doesn't matter as much because of the extra passive she has.

This passive is called Flawless Strategy, and it reduces her Crit Rate to -100 percent, effectively making it nearly impossible for her to Crit. However, the same passive increases her healing effectiveness as well. All of this leads to Kokomi being tied down to only one possible build:

Artifact Sets

Ocean-Hued Clam, Tenacity of the Millelith

Weapons

Everlasting Moonglow, Jadefall's Splendor, Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers

Ocean-Hued Clam lets you deal some extra DMG to enemies based on the amount of healing done by Kokomi. On the other hand, Tenacity of the Millelith can be used if you want her to buff the entire party's ATK while also giving them some shield strength in case you're using her with a shielder or a Geo DPS like Navia.

When it comes to weapons, you have a variety of choices, but the best one might just be a three-star known as Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers. This weapon gives a whopping 48 percent DMG bonus to the character that takes the field after Kokomi, which is massive for most DPS characters in the game.

Keep in mind that this buff is useless for HP-scaling characters like Furina or Neuvillette.

However, you do need a lot of strategy and perfect rotation to use this weapon. If you don't want to do that, you can instead use one of the five-star options to give her a bit of extra DMG and allow her to get the Burst back faster.

Artifact Stat Priority For Sangonomiya Kokomi

Genshin Impact Sangonomiya Kokomi Artifact Screen

Out of all the characters you can get in Genshin Impact, Kokomi is one of the easiest to build artifacts for since she doesn't care too much about the sub-stats you get. Most of her kit relies on the main stats and bonuses you get from having multiple pieces of the same artifact set, and here's what you should look for:

Type

Main Stat Priority

Flower

HP

Feather

ATK

Sands

HP Percent

Goblet

HP Percent

Circlet

HP Percent

You can look for some HP Percent on the sub-stats of the Flower and the Feather and some Elemental Mastery all across your Artifacts. This will help you deal much more damage if you're using her in a Vaporize team with the likes of Xiangling. Moreover, Energy Recharge is another important sub-stat you can look for.

Sangonomiya Kokomi Talent Priority

Genshin Impact Sangonomiya Kokomi Talent Screen

There aren't a lot of characters with up to seven talents in Genshin Impact apart from the Traveler, but Kokomi is one of them. However, she still has only three main active talents that you can upgrade. Out of all of them, her Skill takes the priority since most of your healing comes from this, especially if you only use her Ultimate to reset its duration.

If you're using Kokomi's Ultimate to actually deal a bit of damage while your DPS characters stay off-field, you can upgrade her Ultimate second and Normal Attacks third.
