After a long wait, Hoyoverse has finally released the first male Catalyst user in Genshin Impact. Shikanoin Heizou is a detective who belongs to the Tenryou Commission in Inazuma. He is Kazuha's beloved friend, and already has his own Hangout Event in the game. Heizou's most attractive trait is his ability to literally punch his enemies.

Heizou is an Anemo vision holder who is phenomenal as both on-field DPS and support, since he's able to Swirl every element. With high multipliers on his Elemental Skill and Burst, he is on his way to being as strong as Kazuha, who is one of the strongest characters in the game.

Best Weapons For Shikanoin Heizou

Genshin Impact Heizou and Kazuha

Different weapons can be wielded by Heizou, depending on the playstyle you're aiming for. Genshin Impact has a wide array of weapons to choose from, and they all have their own benefits. Here are some of the best-suited ones for Heizou.

Weapon Name

Secondary Stat

Passive

Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds

Crit Rate

Increases movement speed by 10%. Further, while being in battle, the character wielding this weapon gains an Elemental DMG bonus every 4 seconds. This stacks up to 4 times.

Kagura's Verity

Crit DMG

After using an Elemental Skill, increases your further Elemental Skill DMG and stacks up to 3 times. If it has 3 stacks, an additional Elemental DMG bonus is applied.

The Widsith

Crit DMG

Whenever the character wielding this weapon comes on the field, grants them an ATK bonus, Elemental DMG bonus, or Elemental Mastery randomly. This has a cooldown of 30 seconds.

Solar Pearl

Crit Rate

Normal Attack hits increase Elemental Skill and Burst DMG and vice-versa.

Sacrificial Fragments

Elemental Mastery

If your Elemental Skill deals damage to an enemy, it has a chance of resetting its own CD.

Every weapon mentioned above requires a slightly different playstyle, so let's take a look at that in detail.

Lost Prayers To The Sacred Winds

This is the best-in-slot weapon for Heizou currently, since the character did not come with a signature weapon. The movement speed bonus already makes it perfect for him, as one of Heizou's passives provides a 20 percent reduction in stamina consumption while running. Using another Anemo character with him can provide even further speed due to resonance.

If you're planning to use him as an on-field DPS, you will definitely need a high Crit Rate (70-85 percent), and this weapon helps you with that. Further, you gain an Elemental DMG bonus every four seconds when you're on the field, which goes away every time you leave the field. It's the perfect weapon for on-field DPS Heizou.

Kagura's Verity

This is Yae Miko's signature weapon, and it can be a decent substitute in case you don't have Lost Prayers on your account. Every time you use your Elemental Skill, it will increase the damage for the next one — which benefits Heizou, as he already has a high multiplier. It also provides Crit DMG as the secondary stat, so you can focus more on Crit Rate when it comes to your Artifacts.

The Widsith

Widsith is one of the best catalysts in the game right now. It can even do better than some five-stars in certain scenarios. Ideally, you would want to get either an Elemental DMG bonus or extra Elemental Mastery from this weapon's passive depending on your play style.

Elemental DMG bonus can increase your damage as an on-field DPS significantly for the amount of time the buff lasts, while Elemental Mastery can help you in a supportive playstyle by dealing increased Swirl damage, which can deal a devastating blow with enough Elemental Mastery.

Solar Pearl

Acquiring all the weapons mentioned above depends on your luck when you summon on the banners within the game. Solar Pearl is different, as it can be acquired through the Battle Pass after purchasing the premium tier. The weapon's passive is pretty straightforward, and it serves well as an on-field DPS weapon for Shikanoin Heizou.

Sacrificial Fragments

Last but not least, Sacrificial Fragments definitely deserves a mention when it comes to Heizou. His Elemental Skill is fatal, and it can be performed twice in a row with this weapon. It's perfect for playing him as a supporting character, but it can also be used for an on-field DPS. The only problem is that you will struggle with your Crit ratio if you use this weapon.

Best Artifact Sets For Shikanoin Heizou

Genshin Impact Artifacts

Even though Heizou can be played in different ways, he doesn't have a lot of choices when it comes to Artifact Sets.

Artifact Name

Two-Piece Bonus

Four-Piece Bonus

Viridescent Venerer

+15% Anemo DMG Bonus

Increases Swirl DMG by 60% and decreases elemental resistance of the enemy for the element that is swirled.

Wanderer's Troupe

+80 Elemental Mastery

Increases Charged Attack DMG by 35% for Catalyst and Bow users.

Viridescent Venerer

This is the best artifact set for Shikanoin Heizou as it provides an extra Anemo DMG bonus, which stacks with the Anemo DMG bonus provided by ascending him. The four-piece bonus of this set can be fully utilized by putting characters that can deal off-field damage alongside him.

One of Heizou's passive skills provides every teammate an extra 80 Elemental Mastery to all party members except Heizou, which can help you deal more reaction damage if you choose to go with multiple off-field characters with different elements in his team. This, combined with the four-piece bonus, makes Heizou's on-field DPS really strong.

In case you don't fancy going for a four-piece on Viridescent since it can be an annoying artifact to farm, you can combine two Viridescent Venerer pieces with any artifact set that gives ATK Percent as a two-piece bonus like Gladiator or Shimenawa.

Wanderer's Troupe

The only reason to get artifacts for this set is through Normal and Weekly bosses, and Tier II Domain Reliquaries. Hence, it can be even more annoying to farm than Viridescent. But, if you're planning to use Heizou as support and got lucky with pieces for this artifact, it can do really well with the Elemental Mastery that it provides.

The four-piece set bonus of this artifact is decent, but it's not really recommended for him as he doesn't use Charged Attack that much. Instead, it would be better to combine this artifact set with a two-piece Viridescent Venerer or Gladiator/Shimenawa.

Artifact Stat Priority

While Heizou can have multiple play styles, the main attraction of his entire skill set is the massive amount of damage he can deal. As such, his artifact stat priority is:

Artifact Type

Main-Stat Priority

Sub-Stat Priority

Flower

HP

Crit Rate/DMG > ATK Percent > Elemental Mastery

Feather

ATK

Crit Rate/DMG > ATK Percent > Elemental Mastery

Sands

ATK Percent

Crit Rate/DMG > Elemental Mastery > Energy Recharge

Goblet

Anemo DMG Bonus

Crit Rate/DMG > ATK Percent > Elemental Mastery

Circlet

Crit DMG/Rate > ATK Percent > Elemental Mastery

Talent Priority For Shikanoin Heizou

Shikanoin Heizou Trailer Still

Every character in Genshin Impact has a set of six talents, three of which can be upgraded up to a maximum of ten levels. Shikanoin Heizou has a unique talent set, which is already evident given the fact that he is a melee Catalyst unit.

At the end of the day, if you're planning to use him as an on-field DPS, it is important to level up all of his skills to at least level eight each. But, sometimes you might lack the required materials or Mora and have to prioritize some talents over others. So, for that scenario, Heizou has a pretty clear talent priority.

First, it is undoubtedly best to start with his Elemental Skill as this will be the main source of your damage. Heizou is one of the characters who deal more damage with his skill than his burst. Once you've got your Elemental Skill to the desired level, It's Elemental Burst's turn next.

Once you've upgraded both skill and burst, the requirement to upgrade his Normal Attacks relies on your play style. If you're planning to build him as an on-field DPS, leveling this talent up is necessary. But, you can skip it if you're going for a more supporting play style.

Shikanoin Heizou Constellations

Constellations can be acquired in the game if you manage to get duplicates of the same character. While this can be hard to achieve for five-start characters, it is common to get duplicates of four-star characters. While Heizou is not constellation-reliant, they definitely make him better and more fun to play. His current constellations are:

  1. Whenever Heizou comes on the field, his Normal Attack SPD is increased by 15 percent for five seconds. This can happen once every ten seconds. He also gets a stack of Declension that increases his Elemental Skill's DMG.
  2. Elemental Burst's duration is increased to one second and the pull effect of the Windtunnel created by it is also increased.
  3. Increases the level of his Elemental Skill by three.
  4. The first explosion after using his Elemental Burst provides nine Elemental Energy and every subsequent explosion provides another 1.5 energy, up to a total of 13.5.
  5. Increases the level of his Elemental Burst by three.
  6. During an Elemental Skill, every Declension Stack will increase the Crit Rate of the skill by four percent. If you possess four stacks (which is the maximum), you will also get 32 percent Crit DMG.
