The massive world laid out for you in Genshin Impact is just begging to be explored. Secrets are hidden around every corner, rewarding you for going off the beaten path and allowing your curiosity to guide you.
The enticing atmosphere is just a warm-up, though. Some of the bigger secrets the game has tucked away require a bit more from you, such as the Uncover the Secret of the Uninhabited Island quest. Even the name of this quest is cryptic, so it's only natural most players are having a hard time figuring out what they need to do, let alone where to start. Don't fret; this guide helps uncover all the secrets this uninhabited island has to offer.

Quest Preparations

Before you set off on your quest, you'll need to be prepared for the challenges that await you.
- Equip a party member with Anemo or a wind skill such as Geo Traveler.
- Level 40. The conclusion of this quest has a tough fight waiting for you, so you'll need to level up to a hard minimum of 40 to stand a chance.
- High Stamina. If only for the long gliding stints you'll have to undergo.
Finding The Uninhabited Island
In order to uncover the secret, you're going to need to find the island first. Even scanning over your map won't give you many clues as to where it is, considering it is so small and so far off the coast.
The best place to see the uninhabited island is also the best place to start your journey. Go all the way up to the peak of Starsnatch Cliff and look out to the east. You will see the bit of land you need to reach way out over the water.
Jumping and gliding from here is your best way to get there, assuming you have the stamina for it. Meals can help with this, but it is very far.
If your stamina isn't quite up to par, using a Cryo character's elemental abilities to create ice platforms to walk across is your next best bet. This will take quite a while, though, so prepare for a long trip.
Uncovering The Secret
However you manage to get there, once you reach the uninhabited island, you'll be directed to the broken sundial in the center of the island. Unfortunately, you won't be able to actually start the quest at any time. Here's a step-by-step list of how to get underway in uncovering the secret of the uninhabited island.
- Explore the beach.
- Break the rocks to the right of the small campsite.
- Pick up the Ragged Notebook item (this will explain that the sundial will only work at specific hours).
- Wait to interact with the sundial between 2 and 5 AM in-game time. Thankfully you can use the time skip function to fast-forward.
