Yet another Genshin Impact update is coming, and version 2.2 has been titled "Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog." This update will go live on October 13, according to developer miHoYo, and it is set to introduce the last of the six major islands of Inazuma, a new playable character Thoma, and other new challenges and mini-games. According to Gematsu, players who have not yet claimed Aloy will be able to receive this new character for free.

Tsurumi Island will finally be open to players with version 2.2, and it is covered in thick fog, potentially making it challenging for players to explore. Rifthounds and Rifthound Whelps are just some of the dangers hidden in the fog, waiting to pose a challenge. When they land an attack on you, your character will be inflicted with Corrosion, so you will continue to lose HP whether you’re shielded or not. Furthermore, Tsurumi Island has apparently been continuously researched by a scholar from Sumeru, so you will need to explore more of what’s going on.

Thoma, who initially debuted in the Inazuma storyline, will now be joining as a playable four-star character. Thoma has Pyro Vision and a polearm for his weapon, and he provides strong buffs and defense. You can recruit Thoma during the second Event Wish featuring Thoma and Hu Tao after Childe’s return in the first Event Wish. Hangout events for Thoma and Sayu will also be available.

Additionally, new season events and optimizations to the gameplay will be coming with the update as well.
