One of the less talked about characters in Genshin Impact is Xingqiu. He is a four-star sword-user who is in possession of a hydro vision. He is one of the few characters who has already had their story introduced, and too many players, he just seems like a book-loving child. There is much more to Xingqiu that the fanbase is slowly uncovering. He can be a powerful hydro main, and his personality is much deeper than someone who just likes to sit around reading books.
In fact, Xingqiu possesses a deep curiosity for the things going on around him and wouldn't mind getting to the bottom of the mystery surrounding both Qiqi and Zhongli.
10 He Loves Trouble
Despite the fact that he seems like an elegant young boy, Xingqiu is actually the exact opposite of refined. He keeps up appearances around most of the citizens of Liyue and his family, who look to him to act properly. Behind the scenes, though, he loves causing trouble and has a huge mischievous streak.
Xingqiu doesn't mind getting his hands dirty or sneaking around to learn the truth; he also seems to be quite fond of pranks.
9 He Wants to Be a Hero
Despite the mischievous streak, Xingqiu has been inspired by the books he read of brave men and women. More than anything, Xingqiu hopes to one day be a hero who can protect the weak. He is so obsessed with the idea that he has even devoted himself to acting with chivalry.
He often sneaks around to take on bandits and is happy to go on secret adventures with the Traveler to hone his combat skills.
8 His Dad Doubted Him
Xingqiu's family hasn't exactly been supportive of his hobbies or dreams. In fact, his dad disliked the fact that he spends so much time reading to the point where he allowed him to train with the Guhua Clan instead. His father doubted he'd be good at martial arts and only intended for him to do something other than reading.
As it turns out, Xingqiu was just what the Guhua Clan needed to once again prosper in their combat style.
7 His Best Friend is Chongyun
Xingqiu is a young man that spends a lot of time keeping up appearances. His best friend Chongyun, however, is more than aware of the boy's true personality. Chongyun often has to put up with Xingqiu when he is acting like his true self, which often leads poor Chongyun to endure pranks.
Despite the fact that Xingqiu is a hand-full, the two boys tend to spend a lot of time together in Liyue.
6 He is a Successful Arthur
While Xingqiu doesn't have much success in Liyue, in other regions of Teyvat, he is a popular Arthur. Albedo actually helps him illustrate his books because he is in love with their story. Sadly, Xingqiu didn't have much luck with publishing at first as Liyue publishers rejected his work.
Luckily a traveling merchant picked up a copy of his first book and decided to read it once he returned home.
5 He Has Horrible Penmanship
One of the things that Xingqiu is completely horrible at is having legible handwriting. Despite the fact he is an author, Xingqiu has a hard time making his words not look like mysterious symbols. In fact, the Guhua Clan even hides away a passage he wrote because the writing is so atrocious.
Xingqiu doesn't seem to be entirely aware of just how bad his writing can be.
4 He Doesn't Like Ningguang
Unlike most of the characters in the game, Xingqiu is extremely opinionated towards the other playable characters. He has a distaste for Ninguang, something that many in Liyue would be afraid to say. It also turns out that he finds Xinyan to be an annoyance due to hearing her loud music.
In addition, he seems to be able to tell when Xiangling is cooking up experimental dishes.
3 He Loves Junk Food
Xingqiu has different food preferences from the rest of his family, who eat bland dishes. Xingqiu is in love with seafood dishes. He also loves to eat baked goods, even though they aren't something that he was regularly served at home. His taste buds are incredibly down to earth, considering his upbringing.
In addition, it seems that Xingqiu may even know how to cook for himself.
2 Carrots Turn His Stomach
Most characters in the game have foods that they dislike, but like Zhongli, Xingqiu has a horrible reaction to his least favorite food. Xingqiu becomes physically sick if he eats carrots due to the fact that his mother would always serve him mashed carrots when he was much younger.
He prefers to avoid the vegetable altogether, even if it is mixed in with other foods.
1 He Thinks Little of His Brother
Xingqiu is the youngest of two sons and will not be the one who inherits the family business. From his story, though, players can tell that he doesn't think his brother is very intelligent. Xingqiu is often lectured by his brother, who is more about acting properly for the family.
Even though his brother is the proper one, Xingqiu believes that he isn't smart enough to run the company on his own.
