Renowned star of the Yun-Han Opera Troupe, Yun Jin immediately captured fans' hearts when she became a playable character in Genshin Impact. Her performance of "The Divine Damsel of Devastation" was nothing short of jaw-dropping, and it's even better that you can explore the vast world of Teyvat with her on your own team.

Yun Jin is a four-star Geo support character who wields a polearm with delicate and deadly efficacy. Her gameplay is rather unique, scaling her abilities with DEF and greatly enhancing the Normal Attacks of your party members. As such, Yun Jin occupies a niche yet important role on many teams, significantly boosting your team's defensive and offensive potential when built properly. This guide will cover Yun Jin's best builds so that she's always recognized as the star of the show.

Updated March 18, 2022, by Kyle Gorges: As a dedicated Normal Attack buffer, Yun Jin is an invaluable partner for characters like Yoimiya and Ayato who love spamming the left mouse button. Any future characters who specialize in Normal Attacks are going to want Yun Jin on their team as well, so we're making sure this guide is updated to last throughout her encore.

Best Weapons For Yun Jin

Genshin Yun Jin Weapon Page

Keep an eye out for these weapons if you have Yun Jin in your party.

Weapon Name

Base ATK

Secondary Stat

Passive Ability

Prototype Starglitter

42

Energy Recharge

After Yun Jin uses her Elemental Skill, her Normal and Charged Attack DMG is increased by 8% for 12s. This effect has a maximum of 2 stacks.

Favonius Lance

44

Energy Recharge

Yun Jin's Critical hits have a 60% chance to generate Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character who picks them up. This effect can occur once every 12s.

Since Yun Jin's abilities scale with DEF, a polearm with DEF as its secondary stat would likely be a great option for Yun Jin. Unfortunately, Genshin Impact currently offers no such polearms.

Instead, your best bet is to look towards weapons with Energy Recharge as their secondary stat. This will help Yun Jin refill her Burst so she can use it off cooldown, and is especially useful since she doesn't naturally generate much Energy for herself.

Genshin Yun Jin Vertical Slice Hilichurl

Prototype Starglitter is a four-star polearm that you can Forge at any time. While its passive won't typically get much use on Yun Jin, it provides a very high amount of Energy Recharge as its secondary stat.

Favonius Lance is another four-star polearm that works excellently with Yun Jin. While it doesn't provide as much direct Energy Recharge as Prototype Starglitter, its passive allows it to generate noticably more Energy for Yun Jin overall, especially at higher Refinement levels. Make sure you supply Yun Jin with at least a little Crit Rate so she can take advantage of this effect.

Five-star polearms that offer Energy Recharge, such as Skyward Spine and Engulfing Lightning, are certainly effective on Yun Jin, but it's generally not worth it to use such valuable weapons on her. She gains very little benefit from those weapons' high Base ATK stats and offensive passives, so they're best reserved for your damage-oriented characters.

Best Artifacts For Yun Jin

Genshin Yun Jin Artifact Page

These artifacts will help you get the most out of Yun Jin.

Artifact Set Name

Two-Piece Set Bonus

Four-Piece Set Bonus

Husk of Opulent Dreams

DEF +30%

When Yun Jin is on the field, she will gain 1 stack of the Curiosity effect each time she hits an opponent with a Geo attack. When she is off the field, she will gain 1 stack of Curiosity every 3s. Curiosity can stack up to 4 times, each stack providing a 6% DEF Bonus and a 6% Geo DMG Bonus. If 6s pass without gaining a Curiosity stack, Yun Jin will lose 1 stack.

Archaic Petra

Geo DMG Bonus +15%

When Yun Jin obtains an Elemental Shard created through a Crystallize Reaction, all party members gain a 35% DMG Bonus for that particular element for 10s. Only one type of Elemental DMG Bonus can be obtained this way at one time.

Artifact Set Analysis

Four-pieces of Husk of Opulent Dreams is Yun Jin's best Artifact set for most teams and scenarios. The 30 percent DEF boost from the two-piece effect substantially increases the damage from Yun Jin's Skill and the buffs provided by her Burst.

On top of that, Yun Jin can easily stack the four-piece effect while off-field, giving her even more DEF and Geo DMG when she finally switches into the rotation. It's hard to maintain uptime on the Curiosity effect if you're using Yun Jin actively on the field, but usually she only switches in for quick use of her Skill and Burst anyway.

Genshin Yun Jin Using Skill

Archaic Petra is perhaps an underrated Artifact set for Yun Jin. The extra bit of Geo DMG does slightly benefit her Skill and Burst, but the real advantage is found in the team-wide Elemental DMG Bonus this Artifact set can provide.

Yun Jin's Skill and Burst can reliably generate Elemental Shards, making the activation of the four-piece effect trivial. A team-wide Elemental DMG Bonus of 35 percent is also quite impressive, especially if multiple team members can take advantage of it. Consider this set if you're using Yun Jin on a mono-element team.

Artifact Stats

For the main-stats of Yun Jin's Artifacts, the answer is the same across the board: DEF% Sands, DEF% Goblets, and DEF% Circlets are most in tune with Yun Jin's performance. ER Sands can be substituted if you are struggling to recharge your Burst, but doing so will sacrifice a significant amount of Yun Jin's power.

With regard to Yun Jin's Artifact sub-stats, DEF% and Energy Recharge are once again the most impactful. Flat DEF isn't terrible either, and Crit Rate can be helpful if Yun Jin is using Favonius Lance.

Yun Jin's Talents And Constellations

Genshin Yun Jin Using Burst

Yun Jin's Talents

Yun Jin's Burst is her most valuable asset, granting powerful Normal Attack buffs to the rest of her team. It should be leveled up first.

Yun Jin's Skill should be leveled up second because it is her main source of Elemental Particle generation and is also used during her regular rotation. It's a formidable ability on its own, allowing you to deflect enemy attacks and retaliate with a decent chunk of damage.

Yun Jin's Normal Attacks aren't utilized much within her typical playstyle, which is a shame since they're gorgeously animated. Feel free to level them up to Level Six if you have the resources to spare, but they're not a priority.

Genshin Yun Jin Constellation Page

Yun Jin's Constellations

Yun Jin's C1 and C5 reduce the cooldown of her Skill and increase its strength, respectively. These are both notable improvements, but her Skill is not the most critical part of her kit.

C4 is a general buff to Yun Jin, granting her heightened DEF whenever she triggers a Crystallize Reaction. Yun Jin is able to do this easily and often, making this a reliable Constellation to take advantage of.

Yun Jin's C2, C3, and C6 are her strongest Constellations, all enhancing the capabilities of her Burst. Each one increases her Burst's effectiveness significantly, making them all worth striving for. Keep in mind, though, that Yun Jin's Burst is only as strong as the carry it ends up buffing, no matter how many Constellations you have.
