Mihoyo has officially announced Genshin Impact's upcoming Zhongli banner. Titled "Gentry of Hermitage," the banner also features Xinyan, Razor, and Chongyun, and is scheduled to go live on December 1. It will run until December 22, just one day before the massive Dragonspine update drops.

Fortunately, you can already start farming Zhongli's ascension materials now, which will allow you to level him up instantly if you happen to pull him from a Wish when he becomes available on Tuesday. If that sounds like something you're interested in, we've put together a handy guide of which materials you'll need to ascend Zhongli, as well as details on how to easily obtain them. Bear in mind you'll need almost 500,000 Mora, so it's probably worth earning some in-game cash in the meantime, too.

Genshin Impact Zhongli Ascension Materials

In order to level Zhongli the whole way from zero to 90, these are the exact ascension materials and quantities you'll need:

  • 1 Prithiva Topaz Sliver
  • 9 Prithiva Topaz Fragments
  • 9 Prithiva Topaz Chunks
  • 6 Prithiva Topaz Gemstones
  • 15 Slime Condensates
  • 30 Slime Secretions
  • 36 Slime Concentrates
  • 46 Basalt Pillars
  • 168 Cor Lapis

As well as all of these materials, you'll need a whopping 420,000 Mora to bring Zhongli the whole way up to level 90. Fortunately, the materials you need are all relatively easily obtainable. Here's how to get each type of Prithiva Topaz, as well as basalt pillars, cor lapis, and all of the different kinds of slime.

Genshin Impact Zhongli Ascension Materials - How To Get Prithiva Topaz

Prithiva Topaz Slivers are the least rare form of this ascension material and what you'll need to initially start ascending Zhongli. You can purchase them from the souvenir shop with sigils, or get them from defeating Geo Hypostases or The Wolf in the North.

Prithiva Topaz Fragments can be crafted with three Prithiva Topaz Slivers or obtained by defeating the same enemies mentioned above once they are at least level 40. Similarly, Chunks can be crafted from three Fragments or obtained from the same bosses at level 60 or higher, while Gemstones can be crafted from three Chunks or obtained by defeating the bosses at level 75 or higher.

Genshin Impact Zhongli Ascension Materials - How To Get Slime Concentrate

There are three types of Slime you'll need to ascend Zhongli to level 90: Slime Condensate, Slime Secretions, and Slime Concentrate. Slime Condensate is simply dropped by slimes and is therefore pretty easy to farm - it's not even remotely rare. However, Slime Secretions are only dropped by level 40+ slimes. You can also craft Slime Secretions by combining three Slime Condensates.

Slime Concentrate is only dropped by slimes who are level 60 or higher. As you might expect, you can craft it by using three Slime Secretions.

Genshin Impact Zhongli Ascension Materials - How To Get Basalt Pillars

Basalt Pillars are simply dropped by level 30+ Geo Hypostases. You need 46 of these to fully complete all of Zhongli's ascensions, which means you'll probably have to spend a lot of time rinsing the Geo Hypostasis boss - although you'll need to do that for Prithiva Topaz materials anyway.

Genshin Impact Zhongli Ascension Materials - How To Get Cor Lapis

Cor Lapis is an annoying material to farm, and you'll need a whopping 168 units of it for Zhongli's ascensions. It's only found in Liyue and the best place to get it is on the path up to Mt. Hulao. To break it, use a claymore-wielding character like Razor, Diluc, Chongyun, or Beidou. It's usually found under cliffs or in mines, and is widely available in the general vicinity of Mt. Hulao.

If you collect all of the above materials in the correct quantities, you'll have Zhongli at max level in no time. Just be sure you want to bring him the whole way up before you invest 420,000 Mora and a huge amount of rare materials in him - there's nothing worse than maxing a character who isn't even in your party.
