After a last-minute delay, publisher All In Games has confirmed that Ghostrunner will be sliding over to the Nintendo Switch on November 10, 2020. Packing all of the same stylish combat and acrobatic feats as its more powerful brethren, Ghostrunner is certainly a quality game that should make for a solid title to play on the go.
We don't have any specifics of how the Switch version will look or run, but it's safe to assume it will be locked to 30 fps. The base PS4 and Xbox One versions don't run any faster and it would be lunacy to think the Switch could. If this is anything like Ion Fury, though, there might be a cheat for uncapped framerates that could be used on a potential Switch Pro in the future.
I honestly can't imagine playing Ghostrunner with a gamepad, but I'm sure those more accustomed to first-person games on controllers will be right at home. From other reviews that I've read, it seems Ghostrunner nails smooth movement on PS4, and this port will likely be aided by the addition of gyro controls for aiming.
If you're still on the fence, you can read my review or check out some gameplay footage on YouTube. Ghostrunner really is a treat and stands as one of the best games of this year. It might be a little short, but that seems like a perfect fit for Nintendo's hybrid platform. That the console offers a pick-up-and-play experience with a game so focused on that philosophy is really a match made in heaven.
