Ghostwire: Tokyo is a game jam-packed with bits and bobs; ghosts and gubbins. You can't go more than a few steps without stumbling upon something, and that something might just be one of KK's Investigation Notes. These files are loaded with interesting stories and even come with some tantalizing gameplay benefits.
The downside to Ghostwire: Tokyo having so much stuff, is that it can be hard to pinpoint where the stuff you want is, and how to find it. KK's Investigation Notes are even trickier than most, as some of them are locked behind story progression, and some of them can't even be found through regular exploration.
Updated on April 16, 2023, by Axel Bosso: With the recent launch of Ghostwire: Tokyo on the Xbox systems and its DLC, Spider's Thread, we thought it was a good time to update our guides and give you all the help we can while looking for KK Notes. Here you'll find the location for each one of these notes, and also the rewards they give you.

The Sewer Kid
Akisawa Shrine
This is the first KK Investigation Note you can find in the wild. You will find this during the "KK" Mission in Chapter Two. It can be found in KK's Safehouse on a stack of boxes under a calendar.
If you missed this note, you can also travel back to KK's Safehouse at a later date and pick it up.
The King Of The Loan Sharks
Yashin Shrine
If you Fast Travel to Yashin Shrine, you will find yourself in a construction yard. Head to the elevator and move up one floor. You will find The King Of The Loan Sharks Investigation Note on a stack of black slabs near some red cones.
The Dancing Headless Students
Kuo Shrine
Head to Kuo Shrine, and then go down the steps towards the small payphone. Opposite the payphone are some red chairs. Head around the back of these chairs, and you will find The Dancing Headless Students Investigation Note.
The Turbo Student
Shibuya Underground
You won't be able to access this Investigation Note until you make progress through the "Buried Life" mission as part of Chapter Two.
As you move down through the station, you will bump into some ghosts near an arcade. Dispatch these supernatural deviants, and you will be free to explore game cabinets.
On top of one of the red stools, you will find The Turbo Student Investigation Note.
You can come back to this area at any time if you missed this note on your first pass.
The Kirigaoka Vanishing
Hirokawa Shrine
Go to the Hirokawa Shrine. Head east towards the Nekomata. Opposite the Nekomata is a building. Head in through the side door, and you will find The Kirigaoka Vanishing Investigation Note near one of the tables.
The Marunouchi Vanishing
Utagawa Shopping District Torii Gate
You can only access this Investigation Note after/during the "Pillar Of Light" mission as part of Chapter 3. It is advised that you get this note on your first passing, as this area is large and mazelike. It's much more difficult to locate once the area is cleansed as there are fewer obvious landmarks.
To find The Marunouchi Vanishing Investigation Note, wait until you reach the office you need to cleanse. From here, follow the cables to the second electrical box and go through the door on the left. You will find the note below the TV.
The Jukai Soba Excavation
Utagawa Shopping District Torii Gate
Head to the Utagawa Shopping District Torii Gate and head south. Near the shrine itself, under a green parasol, you will find The Jukai Soba Excavation Investigation Note.
The Awakened AI
Yamaki Shrine
During the "Blindness" mission as part of Chapter 3, you will come across an apartment complex surrounded by police tape. Before you enter the apartment on the third floor, head to the first floor. There will be some lockers tucked away in the corner with The Awakened AI Investigation Note sticking out.
The Tengu Turf War
Onten Shrine
Travel to Onten Shrine. Head down the stairs and enter the nearby building. On the right-hand side, you will see The Tengu Turf War Investigation Note on a shelf.
The Ether Thief
Shimokusa Shrine
This Investigation Note is technically in the Sakano Shrine zone of Tokyo, however, it's much quicker if you travel to the Shimokusa Shrine instead. From here, you can take a few steps north, and you will be able to spot The Ether Thief Investigation Notes resting next to an elevator.
The Giant Teru Teru Bozu
Kappagaike Torii Gate
This Investigation Note is one of the more awkward ones to find through exploration. Thankfully, you will naturally bump into this note during the "Black Tower" mission as part of Chapter 4. It can be found on a bench located atop a building on the southern edge of the Kappagaike Torii Gate.
The Line At The Ramen Shop
Tatsui Shrine
Head to Tatsui Shrine. As you move north, you will quickly bump into a small shrine that houses The Line At The Ramen Shop Investigation Note.
The Overpriced Tickets
Noto Shrine
Travel to Noto Shrine. Head down the stairs to exit the small shrine, and then look to your left. You will find The Overprice Tickets Investigation Note on a nearby small wall.
The Hyakki Yako
Off Map Location
This Investigation Note is easily missed, and not particularly easy to find once overlooked.
The Hyakki Yako Investigation Note cannot be found on the regular map, nor can it be found in any building. It is part of a scripted sequence during Chapter 5, and can only be picked up after you've defeated the first boss of this area.
You can find the notes hidden away in a small building next to a safe.
KK's Notes Reward
Finding all of KK's Investigation Notes is difficult. Not only is there a heavy monetary toll to pay for some, but some of them are awkwardly placed within mission areas that are difficult to navigate at later dates. That being said, acquiring them is well worth the effort.
Each note will contain a detailed piece of lore that helps flesh out the world. Not only that, but each KK Investigation Note found awards you with a whopping 20 Skill Points. This is the equivalent of leveling up twice. Considering there are 20 notes, you are looking at 400 bonus Skill Points. A mighty reward for a bit of leg work.
