Ghostwire: Tokyo brings you into a city that is wholly different from the Tokyo you know today. All of its inhabitants have disappeared, leaving nothing but their clothes behind to remind you of their existence. In their place, creepy monsters and demons from Japanese folklore have rolled in with the fog, eating souls, and scaring the bejeezus out of you.

But in a desolate ghost town, there are some things you just can't help doing. From visiting adorable nekomatas to playing around with your newfound powers, these things are relatable to all Ghostwire: Tokyo players.

9 Petting The Animals Of Shibuya

Despite the missing people of Tokyo, the animals are left wholly unharmed. With KK's abilities, you find yourself able to read their thoughts, and they range from fear, confusion, and indifference (mostly from the cats).

After running around Tokyo killing and being chased by demonic Visitors, you are in for a well-deserved 'me time'. What is better than petting the adorable cuddly canines and furry felines of Tokyo? You definitely have more luck petting the dogs, as even with the loss of humans, most cats are still their cute, aloof selves - with a few notable exceptions, of course.

8 Buying Dog Food

Ghostwire: Tokyo Buying dog food

Not only can you pet these cute canines, but you can even purchase dog food for them! Yes, that is right, simply stop by a family mart and grab a couple of dog food from your local nekomata. You can even buy 99 of them, so you can happily feed all the dogs you meet.

Moreover, feeding the faithful dogs of Shibuya will get you a hefty reward in return. They will personally dig up some meika for you, so if you're running short on meika, dole out some dog food for man's best friend.

7 Visiting Cute Nekomatas

Not all the demons and spirits that came with the fog are scary. Some are whimsical and flirty, while others are downright adorable, and there is none more adorable than the nekomata. Even in what seems like an apocalypse, these yokai are peddling their wares, taking over from Tokyo's missing convenience store owners.

These business-savvy cats are hunting around for relics and are willing to shell out tons of meika. But let's be real, their fondness for dropping cat puns in every sentence and being absolute cuties themselves is probably why you're coming to visit.

6 Gliding Around Like Frozone

Ghostwire Tokyo Gliding around Shibuya

When KK fused with Akito, the latter became blessed with KK's Avatar-like powers, just minus the Earth element. Not only can he summon wind, water, and fire, but now he can leap from the top of a skyscraper and land unharmed.

What's more, Akito can glide from building to building, crossing great distances with KK's spiritual powers. It's super fun to use and definitely handy to have for when Tokyo's streets are infested with malicious Visitors trying to devour your soul. There are times when you don't feel like dealing with enemies, so gliding about the city is definitely what we all choose to do.

5 Using Your Bow More Than Your Weaving Attacks

Ghostwire TokyoUsing the Bow to cleanse corruption

After the whole debacle of Chapter One and Akito is getting used to having KK possessing his body, you are handed a new weapon to use in Chapter Two, which is KK's fancy bow. Paired with some special, glowing arrows, you quickly realize these pack a hell of a punch, much more than your Weaving attacks.

When you fight against stronger, hard-hitting enemies like Relentless Walkers or Kuchisake, a few well-placed shots with a bow, and they're down for the count. Sometimes you can even one-shot enemies from afar. Taking down Visitors with headshots is definitely faster and far less messy than an all-out battle with your elemental Weaving and wasting SP. Although there are downsides to using the bow - like waiting for the arrow to charge up - it is certainly your preferred weapon.

4 Getting Grabbed By Yokai

Ghostwire Tokyo Monster jumpscares

In a city now filled with ghosts and demons galore, jumpscares are not out of the realm of expectations. Japan has some of the spookiest-looking spirits in their mythology and folklore, with infamous urban legends that send shivers down your spine. Well, in Ghostwire: Tokyo, you are given the chance to meet some of them.

At some point, you'll be introduced to ladies in masks and their maskless counterparts, showcasing their hideous ear-to-ear grins and bulging eyes. Especially when they grab you out of nowhere, with their giant scissors poised for the kill. No one will blame you if you screamed at the sight of them.

3 Spectral Vision... Just To Be Safe

Ghostwire Tokyo Spamming the Spectral Vision ability

In this game, stealth is an option. KK's supernatural gifts heighten Akito's senses, and now you can see far beyond what a normal human can. And with Visitors at every corner, Spectral Vision is a blessing to have.

Running around the streets willy-nilly without first checking with Spectral Vision is a surefire way of getting killed quickly, especially when you're traversing to a higher level area and there are groups of Visitors. So, spamming Spectral Vision at every corner is your key to survival.

2 Watching Demon Parades

Ghostwire Tokyo Watching Demon Parades

Roaming around Tokyo, you will most likely notice a procession of yokai enshrouded in fog. Accompanied by religious music, KK describes them as demon parades or Hyakki Yako, and they are extremely intimidating.

You probably stood to the side the first time you saw these demon parades, and watched them disappear, afraid of being killed if you stood in the way. But actually, going inside these parades is a way to level up fast. You'll be surrounded by seemingly endless amounts of enemies, and once you fight your way out, you'll be gaining tons of XP.

1 Tengu Grappling

Ghostwire Tokyo Using a tengu to grapple

Aside from gliding, a fast way to travel around the city quickly is by using the tengu. Grappling using these bird-like yokai is a fast way to get atop a building and start gliding around.

They're a good way of avoiding enemies on the ground, as well as steering clear of using the stairs. You can even unlock the skill to summon your own tengu to give you a boost up to the roof of the building.
