Did you miss your first fight against KK’s body? We hope so because you’ll be battling Yaseotoko once again in Ghostwire: Tokyo. He’s the fourth boss you’ll face in the game, and he comes right after beating Okina.

This will be another mirror match against a Sojutsuki. He’ll show you all his Weavings, just like KK’s soul taught you. However, this beast learned a few new tricks, and you should expect a more intense battle this time. Check this guide to learn everything about Ghostwire: Tokyo's fourth boss.

Learning Yaseotoko’s Attacks

Let’s do a quick recap: Yaseotoko can change between the three magic styles: Fire Weaving, Wind Weaving, and Water Weaving. You’ll notice these changes by looking at the color of his hands — they will turn red, green, and blue, respectively.

Again, each weaving will have its attacks, which are the same ones as before — at least during the first seconds of the battle. However, Yaseotoko will now have a second phase, in which he will perform charged variations of his moves.

Yaseotoko powered-up, using his Water Weaving.

For example, his Wind Weaving can create three tornadoes that move in different directions. These ones have a medium-range and cover a good chunk of the arena, but they move in a fixed pattern.

His charged attacks for the remaining two types of magic are basically the same moves that you can do. Water Weaving creates a wave with much more reach than usual, allowing Yaseotoko to strike you from farther away. On the other hand, the boss can create a bomb using Fire Weaving, which will explode in a notorious radius and damage you if you’re around it.

Regarding his ground slam attack, it will be as you remember it: a ground slam that creates a shockwave on the floor. First, he will jump at the sky twice, using a violet hook, and then he’ll produce the shockwave. There will be multiple shockwaves once he’s in his second phase, though.

Another new move unique to this second battle is a shield. From time to time, Yaseotoko will create a pink barrier around him. Contrary to your guard, he won’t receive any damage while in this state.

One last move he’ll unlock in his second phase is a special grab. It’s special because it’ll take KK out of your body, leaving you magic-less. You’ll need to absorb KK as soon as possible, by getting near his soul and grabbing it like any other spirit.

How To Beat Yaseotoko (Again)

Yaseotoko running towards the player.

Every strategy you used for the previous fight will be still useful here. His fire lances? Move to the side and avoid them. His air projectiles? Same deal, although they can be tricky as they follow you, so blocking/parrying them would be a better choice. For the water waves, crouch at the right time or use guard when you’re about to get hit.

Once again, there will be multiple Crystallized Ethers around the arena, so you won’t be out of SP during the fight. If you clean the arena, they will spawn over time.

This time Yaseotoko will have two phases. The core will be at the same place (his chest), but you’ll fail the first time you try to remove it, and the boss will gain a buff.

During this state, he’ll do the charged versions of his moves. Luckily, they are dodged in the same way as their regular counterparts. The firebomb has a nice reach, but it’s very slow, giving you more than enough time to dodge it. On the other hand, the tornadoes can easily be avoided by just going backwards. Lastly, the boosted water wave has the same deal, although its timing is more tricky to parry. Just use your guard skill, and you’ll be fine.

Use your magic depending on your distance with the boss: Water Weaving when he comes close, Fire Weaving when he isn’t so near, and Wind Weaving when you’re out of your flame tricks.

Once you’ve exposed his core for the second time, Akito will finally remove it and vanish the beast. After this event, the fight will be over and KK’s body won’t bother you.

The Aftermath Of The Fourth Boss Fight

Once you beat KK’s soul for the second time, he’ll be done for good, and Chapter 5 will be completed. Fortunately, his soul will still be inside you, so you’ll be still able to use magic for the remaining mission.

Speaking of which, you’ll have to face Hannya as the final boss. He’ll be waiting for you in Chapter 6: Binding after ‘a memory trip’ with Akito.
