Gizmo has been officially confirmed as a character for MultiVersus, and will be releasing next Tuesday, September 7.

After teasing that something big was going to be announced today, the official MultiVersus Twitter account shared a video that shows Gizmo emerging from his crate as Spike laughs and destroys things in the background. The Tweet announcing Gizmo also confirmed that he'll be released next Tuesday on September 7.

The Tweet announcing Gizmo said, "We've got a little, fluffy surprise headed your way on Tuesday". Interestingly, the caption seems to be specifically referring to Gizmo and not Stripe, so it's not clear if the Gremlin will be coming on the same day or at a later date, but it seems that they'll arrive on the same day. Rumours have previously suggested that the two might actually be one character, as the data within the files seems to link the two together, but more evidence points towards the two being seperate from one another with some similarities.

There are also several clues to Gizmo's moveset lying around his crate, such as the bucket of popcorn and tricycle. Dataminers were able to find several sound effects that were linked to Gizmo's character data within the files that hinted at these two being a part of his moveset, and it looks like this trailer is heavily hinting at that being the case.

Spike's moveset also seems to be teased a bit as you can see a buzzsaw blade that was rumoured to be a part of his kit. Sound effects relating to a gun were also found in Spike's character data, so it seems likely that will be part of his moveset as well.

Interestingly, despite being announced and known about for quite some time now, it looks like Gizmo is going to release before Rick does. Hackers have even been able to get Rick working in-game with everything except for his voicelines, proving that his whole moveset has been completed, so it's not clear why there's been a delay to his release.
