Goat of Duty, unconventional first-person shooter and second goat-based indie hit to grace PC screens, is finally getting a full release. Developer Raiser Games has released an official roadmap detailing the updates and events that will be added to the game leading up to the full release on January 16th.
Goat of Duty celebrated the launch of the roadmap last week with a new map and a new game mode. Death Valley is a very vertical map perfect for mountain goats. Players can expect to see a lot of flying goats here, as goats try to get the high ground and gain the advantage. The roadmap celebration also implemented a new game mode called Markhor Tag, a deadly version of the children’s game, where players have to kill the infamous Markhor Goat to become the Markhor themselves, then survive for as long as they can as the other players try to hunt them down.
In addition to the new map and new game mode, Raiser Games is introducing quality-of-life changes to Goat of Duty for the road map celebration. The update includes improved CPU performance and improved goat AI in preparation for the game’s eventual release.
The released roadmap also shows an outline of the future updates that will come to the game. A competitive update is scheduled for release in November, which will introduce competitive leaderboards and will let players create private matches. In December, Goat of Duty will release a Christmas update, which includes a new map called Battlegoat (Omaha) and a new game mode, Domination. Then, finally, the game will launch out of Early Access on January 16th, 2020, and will include more match customization options.
If the idea of a goat-centric first person shooter appeals to you, you still have some time to pick up the game while its on sale as an Early Access title. When the game launches in January, the price will increase to $14.99. Raiser Games said that they want to reward players who join early with the cheaper price, so if you’re interested in a first-person shooter that stands apart from the crowd, you might want to sign up before the end of the year.
