When you think of God of War, most of you probably think of one of the game's memorable boss fights. Whether it be the fight against Baldur in the original God of War or the fight with Kronos in the original trilogy, there have been plenty of incredible fights with figures from Greek and Norse mythology over the years. Now that Ragnarok is over, fans are wondering what's next for Kratos and Atreus and who they could be fighting in the future.

Back in 2020, God of War director Cory Barlog revealed that Christianity is a part of the God of War universe, prompting fans to wonder who would win in a fight between Kratos and Jesus. The son of Zeus against the son of God would make for a pretty epic clash, but there are plenty of others religious figures from Christianity, and fans have been discussing who could potentially go a few rounds with Kratos.

First put to the God of War subreddit by u/OtheDreamer, they share images of several biblically accurate angels that are screaming out for a kicking. Staying on the topic of angels, u/GIANTkitty4 reckons that Uriel and the rest of the Archangels would make for a good scrap. Maybe they could function similar to Berserker King Hrolf and his Berserkers - they might put up a better fight anyway.

Other potential candidates also include the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as suggested by u/Hero-In-Theory who also throws out some other names like Metatron and some more Satanic figures like Lucifer and Azrael. Going one step further, u/lr031099 even suggests a potential narrative reasoning for his fights, setting up the Horseman of War as a powerful rival for Kratos.

We'll have to imagine these fights rather than see them play out though as, unless there's a dramatic change in tone for the series, Santa Monica will probably steer well clear of any actual religions to keep the series out of controversy. It's fun to imagine at least.
