God of War is coming to PC January 14, ending its almost four year exclusivity on PS4. The news was announced moments ago, via an official trailer that showcases the performance that PC players can expect.

God of War joins other big PS4 exclusives such as Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn that have since been ported to PC, quite unexpectedly. Sony had slowed down on the PC ports in recent months, but this latest offering could indicate a reignited commitment to getting these critically acclaimed titles to more players.

The Steam page for God of War on PC is already live, and the game can be pre-ordered now. According to the description, PC players can expect improved visuals, ultra-wide support, and a range of ways to play with control customisation.

Other than that, it seems that this is a faithful and wholly accurate port of the already widely adored action-adventure game.

God of War initially launched in 2018, and was met with praise from both critics and fans alike. Its sequel, God of War Ragnarok, was revealed last month and is expected to launch at some point in 2022, having originally been pushed back due to various Covid-19 lockdowns. It will be another PlayStation exclusive, only coming to PS4 and PS5 at first. Yet as today's news has shown, that may change post-launch.
