God of War Ragnarok has seen a renewed marketing campaign hit the streets worldwide recently. Massive Leviathan Axes have been spotted in London and Kuwait City, and a giant Mjolnir landed in Delhi. We doubt Thor himself could pick that thing up. Now Sony is teasing a God of War ad at Superbowl LVII.

As reported by PSU, PlayStation Canada's Instagram account posted a video of Mjolnir surrounded by a swirling snowstorm with a weather alert underneath it: "Fimbulwinter at the big game?", alongside the caption, "Forecast calls for a blizzard on 2.12.23."

The Superbowl is one of, if not the, largest advertising events in the world, so it's likely that Sony is teasing an upcoming advert during the sporting event. What exactly will be revealed during the game, we don't know for sure, but we have some ideas.

We've already been told there won't be any DLC for God of War Ragnarok, so unless Santa Monica has done a massive u-turn or just straight-up misled us this entire time, don't get your hopes up for a DLC announcement. What's more likely is we're about to get a release date for the promised new game plus and photo modes.

We've been told new game plus will be arriving this spring, so we may be about to get an actual release date. It would also be nice if it were already finished and the update was going live right after the game, but we'd better not get our hopes up.

There's also the chance that this is just a new ad campaign designed to shift even more units of the already wildly popular game. It's already Sony's fastest-selling first-party game, but that's not going to stop Sony wanting to cash in even more on the blockbuster triple-A hit.

In other God of War news, Amazon's show based on the games is still in the early stages, so don't expect any updates on it any time soon.
