God of War: Ragnarok might be one of the first games to be solely next gen. Depending, as it often does, on how you interpret a CEO's comments in an interview.

Sony CEO Jim Ryan was interviewed by the Telegraph recently, and was asked about the decisions leading up to the PS5 launch and the brand's future. You can read here about why he thinks $70 is a perfectly reasonable price for new games. At another point, he was asked if God of War: Ragnarok will release on both PS4 and PS5. His response? "Sorry, I've got nothing to say about that today."

Backtracking to the initial PS5 announcements, Sony sneakily confirmed that many launch games were also coming to PS4. At least one TheGamer writer was left to question if they even needed PS5 after that. It stands to reason that Sony would be similarly shy about God of War: Ragnarok's PS4 status.

For now, it seems many games are still being designed with the PS4/Xbox One in mind, with next-gen enhancements. But if God of War: Ragnarok is PS5-exclusive, it might deliver one of our first true PS5 experiences.

Or it could be that Ryan is giving a businesslike, non-committal response about a far-off release. Announcements are usually given with more pizazz than a Telegraph interview, after all.
