God of War: Ragnarok is filled to the brim with side quests and fun things to sink your teeth into. Yggdrasil Rifts are one of these optional objectives, and closing a rift will net you some nifty rewards. Other than ones that have Lindwyrms in, you'll have to fight whatever enemy comes out of there first before getting your reward.

There are 15 Yggdrasil Rifts in total to encounter and close, as well as six Lindwyrms hiding in them to find. The Yggdrasil Rifts will only become available once you have progressed through the story and defeated a certain boss, triggering the start of the Lost Lindwyrms Favour.

Svartalfheim Yggdrasil Rifts

There are seven Yggdrasil Rifts to close in Svartalfeim. If you're looking to complete the Lost Lindwyrms, there are six in total and you'll want to collect the four available Lindwyrms in this area. These are located at Alberich Island, Alberich Hollow, the Applecore, and the Forge.

Ygdrassil Rift

Myrkr Tunnels

You can reach this location from the Nidavellir Beach Mystic Gateway and ride the minecart up. Follow the wooden paths until you come to a hatch. Climb down to the bottom and follow the path behind you when you reach the ground. When you come to an intersection, take the first right and then turn right again to find the rift. It will be in front of some barrels.

Alberich Island

Dock your boat on the northern point of the map to find Alberich Island, it's just north of Alberich Hollow docks. On the island, head to the right and throw your spear at the wall to create a platform. Follow the path and break the rocks using the Skjalfa sonic ability. Looking at the waterwheel on your right, there is a rock in the water to throw your spear at. Detonate it to free the waterwheel. Swing across the cleared path to get to the Rift on a platform in the water. This Rift contains a Lindwyrm

Dragon Beach

Dock your boat on Dragon Beach, located just above Nidavellir. From the dock, head between the two wooden structures and look for a climbable chain on the left side. Throw your spear into the post in front to create a way up to the higher level. Climb up and swing across the gap. Turn right and duck under a beam to find the rift.

Alberich Hollow

From Dragon Beach rift, follow the path to get to Alberich Hollow. Keep on the path forwards and the Ygdrassl Rift will be on a ledge to your left. This Rift contains a Lindwyrm.

The Applecore

This Ygdrassil Rift is right next to the Applecore Mystic Gateway. There will be another Lindwyrm in this Rift.

The Forge (1/2)

From the Nidavellir Beach Mystic Gateway, use the minecart to travel up the mountain. Follow the wooden pathway and take the first right you come across. Head straight on and pass under some fallen rocks. The rift will be on your left in this arena.

The Forge (2/2)

Kratos looks at the places to throw your Spear in Svartalfheim, The Forge, to get to the second Yggdrasil Rift location.

From the previous Rift, follow the path and take the elevator up to the central bell of the Forge. With it in front of you, turn to the left and climb the wall. At the top, go through the tunnel and jump down. Follow the path, jump a gap, and shimmy through a narrow passage. Go forward and turn around to look at the passage to see two places to throw your spear, one ahead and one to the right. Climb up on the right spear and vault across the middle to reach the rift containing a Lindwyrm.

Vanaheim Yggdrasil Rifts

Next, we suggest heading to Vanaheim to pick up four more Ygdrasil Rifts. There are two Lindwyrms to collect here if you need them for the Favour. One of the Lindwyrms is easily found by the Eastern Plains Mystic Gateway and the other in this area requires you to complete the For Vanaheim Favour.

Ygdrasil Rift

River Delta

Take your boat from the Mystic Gateway near Pilgrim's Landing. Row towards Pilgrim's Landing and then go past the circular island towards the overgrown trees. You will come to another place to dock your boat on the left. Head up the stairs and you will come to the Rift.

The Plains - Eastern Plains (1/3)

Fast travel to the Eastern Plains Mystic Gateway in the top right of the map. Take the path that goes up from the gateway and you will drop down a few ledges eventually. The Rift is here next to the water. This is one of two Lindwyrms in the area.

The Plains - Crimson Dread arena (2/3)

To reach this location, you need to complete the Favour side quest called For Vanaheim. This will lead you to the arena where you fight the Crimson Dread dragon in the top left of the Plains area. On your map, the Rift is located directly north of The Overgrown Tower Mystic Gateway in the dragon arena. This Rift will contain another Lindwyrm for your troubles.

The Plains - Island opposite docks (3/3)

From the Western Plains Mystic Gateway, head to the east boat dock. Board the boat and turn right to find a small island in the water where you can dock your boat. Look for a blue flag waving about to signal where you can dock.

Alfheim Yggdrasil Rifts

There's only one Yggdrasil Rift to find in Alfheim and it's located at the very top of the map. The area is called The Burrows and you can find your way there from The Hjarta Mystic Gateway that links the area to The Barrens.

The Forbidden Sands

The only Rift in Alfheim is found at the top of the map, to the right of the massive statue of Freyr. There is a structure you can access by grappling to it using your Blades on the rock opposite it. You'll have to clear out a bunch of enemies, then head through the narrow archway on the other side of the arena. The Rift is here and you can also pick up a Tributes to Freyr Artifact next to it.

Midgard Yggdrasil Rifts

Over in Midgard, there are only three Ygdrassil Rifts to claim. None of these rift locations contains a Lindwyrm for the Favour, so if you're only looking for them, you should check Svartalfheim.

Lake of Nine

Take the elevator to reach the top of Tyr's Temple. Go to the staircase to the left of the main building and follow this path until you jump down three ledges. The rift is in front, in an icy arena where you fought Thor much earlier in the game.

Shores of Nine (1/2)

Ride the dog sled north from the Temple of Tyr. Dismount and vault over the wooden barricade. Move under the large fallen pillar and head to the left path. Take the road until you vault over a gap, and you'll see the Rift in front of you.

Shores of Nine (2/2)

Kratos stands next to the Midgard Yggdrasil Rift by the Alfheim Tower Mystic Gateway

This Rift is right next to the Alfheim Tower Mystic Gateway. After getting the above Rift, you will be in front of the elevator. Using your Blades of Chaos can free the mechanism so you can take the lift. The Rift will be in front of you at the top of the lift.
