Fans are finally getting what they've been asking for years. Amazon Prime has just confirmed a God of War TV series is being made. We already know who Kratos should be played by, but we're still waiting on a full cast list.We first got word of a potential God of War live-action series earlier this year when sources speaking to Deadline said Sony and Amazon were in negotiations. The show would be headlined by Wheel of Time writer and executive producer Rafe Judkins, while The Expanses' The Expanse's Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby would serve as writers alongside Judkins. Sony Pictures and Television was said to be collaborating with PlayStation Productions and PlayStation Games to help produce the show. The story will follow the plot of the 2018 God of War reboot, where Kratos gives up his title as the Greek god of war in favor of a life of peace in the Norse realm of Midgard. "Kratos sets off on a dangerous journey with his estranged son to spread her ashes from the highest peak — his wife’s final wish," reads the show's official description. "Kratos soon realizes the journey is an epic quest in disguise, one which will test the bonds between father and son, and force Kratos to battle new gods and monsters for the fate of the world."

It's unknown if God of War: Ragnarok will also factor into the Amazon Prime series or if it might be a potential second season. No other details have been provided, but we should really note Christopher Judge provided an award-winning performance as Kratos in Ragnarok and has expressed interest in maintaining the role for any potential TV series.

No timeframe was provided for God of War's release on Amazon Prime, so expect a bit of a wait.
