God of War fans are happy that the latest update for Ragnarok not only lets them put on Kratos' iconic cloak, it also lets them free the nips and make him go entirely shirtless.

After having announced that a New Game Plus mode would be coming to God of War Ragnarok all the way back in December, Sony Santa Monica finally added the mode as part of a new update for the game that went live a few days ago. Far from just including New Game Plus, the new update also adds a ton of new content, including a new arena and several new outfits for Kratos.

Two of the outfits included in the update are some that have been heavily requested by fans even before Ragnarok launched. The first is the cloak that Kratos wears at the start of the game, while the second is one called the "Spartan Armour" that makes Kratos look like he did in his Greek days and gets rid of his shirt.

Although you might think that something as simple as taking off Kratos' shirt wouldn't be that big of a deal, it's going down a treat with the God of War community. One of the most-liked posts on the God of War subreddit right now is one from Redditor singhdhruvt_ that celebrates the new armour, saying, "Free the Nips!!! they listened".

In fact, fans seem particularly excited to finally get a good look at Kratos' surprisingly big nipples. Some comments are just pointing out how they're "bigger than olives", while others point out that this now settles the debate of what colour they are - it's ash white, not tattoo red. I never knew the God of War community was this interested in seeing Kratos' tits, but here we are.

The reception to the new armour has been mostly very positive, although there are a few complaints. Some fans wish that Sony Santa Monica had included the red skirt along with making Kratos shirtless, while another Redditor thinks that it's a bit of a shame that the shield is now just stuck to Kratos instead of appearing and disappearing with magic, or giving him vambraces to resemble his old self even more.

Weird nipple fascinations aside, shirtless Kratos is actually something that fans have been wanting to see in the Norse saga for quite some time to try and make him look like he did in the old games. Shirtless armour sets were modded into the original God of War, but it's a nice gesture from Sony Santa Monica to make it an official option, especially considering Ragnarok isn't out on PC.
