Like 2018 before it, gamers have seen some fantastic releases this year. This is no more illustrated than it is by GamesRadar+'s 37th Golden Joystick Awards' nominees for the Ultimate Game of the Year (akin to the best game of the year).

Readers and visitors of the website have several choices to pick from for Ultimate Game of the Year, and each of them is completely viable in their own right.

The games available to vote for include the narrative-driven Telling Lies, as well as the critically-acclaimed remake of Resident Evil 2. As well the other nominees include FromSoftware-developed Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, popular simulator Untitled Goose Game, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot, Apex Legends, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Disco Elysium, Gears 5, The Outer Worlds, Control, and Outer Wilds.

As seen above, these are some tough options to choose from. Each of the games has tons of merit and most had been highly-anticipated up until their respective releases, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. As such, it will be tough to cast a vote here.

For those unaware, last year's winner of Ultimate Game of the Year was Fortnite Battle Royale. Given it is currently one of the most popular games in the gaming industry, the award didn't come as much of a surprise, though it had been closely trailed by Red Dead Redemption 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

As mentioned previously, however, this is a difficult vote to cast. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot did not fail to impress, while Gears 5 was a hit in both its single-player and multiplayer elements. Resident Evil 2 was also well-received for its revitalization of the survival horror genre using Capcom's latest, very impressive engine.

Players can only vote for the Ultimate Game of the Year award for one week, so if you want to vote, you should do so while you can. Of course, it's recommended that you make an informed decision, though it is understandable if you have not played every game available to vote for. In any regard, you have until November 1st to vote.
