There are plenty of reasons the Gorogoa demo is worth your time. First, you'll earn an achievement for playing through the demo. Second, you'll get an opportunity to see the beginnings of a game that took more than five years to develop. That's a pretty rare opportunity!

You'll notice right away that a lot of the Gorogoa demo plays similarly to the final launch version. For instance, the first story beats unfurl almost identically to Chapter One. You will still transport the young boy from the apartment closet to the rooftop across the street. Furthermore, the final image you need to create to drop the first fruit into the boy's bowl is almost identical. Therefore, while this version lacks titular characters, such as the boy in the wheelchair, you can still play through this puzzle as you did before without any surprises.

To receive the second fruit in the Gorogoa demo, you will play through the game exactly as you did in Chapter Two. You still need to send the boy up a flight of stairs to reach the next rooftop and walk down an alleyway to the green door. Additionally, the sign-based puzzle that creates a doorway into the garden is the same. Finally, the pattern you need to place the fruit over is precisely the same, even down to the menacing green eye.

Some imagery is slightly different, so you'll need to pay attention to avoid getting lost. For example, there is a boarded window behind the staircase that you can click. However, the boarded window is not relevant until the third fruit puzzle. Also, note that the boy will sit at the ledge of a well at the end of this section.

How To Get The Third Fruit

The puzzles required to gain the third fruit depart more from Chapter Three than the previous demo sections do to their respective chapters. First, focus on the thought bubble that appears above the boy's head as he sits on the well. Next, drag the boy's panel away from the thought bubble to reveal a familiar-looking bedroom wall from the final launch game.

Once you unveil the bedroom wall, drag this panel until you see a wall of drawings featuring an octopus and a carriage. Then, zoom into the carriage until it takes up the whole panel. Finally, place the carriage over the boy sitting on the well.

At this point, you can turn your attention to the boarded window past the staircase. Once you zoom into the window, some wood panels should fall away. After this happens, zoom into the window to enter a room full of junk. Once you enter the junk room, click the left button and zoom into a yellow shelf in front of a fan. Now, focus on the apartment hallway panel and zoom into the yellow shelf in front of a fan. The hallway shelf and junk room shelf connect! This moment likely influenced the shelf puzzle in the final game.

Connecting the shelves will shift its weight, unveiling the third fruit, which rolls out on a china plate hiding behind the pair of pliers. Drag the shelf panel away from the third fruit to reveal the fruit hanging from a tree. You will get a more extensive park scene if you zoom away from the fruit. Connect this park scene on the left to the carriage panel on the right. Then, the two carriage-pullers will carry the boy to the third fruit.

Finishing The Demo

You need to ride a train to complete the demo, similar to Chapter Five. However, getting to the train station takes a different approach. First, you need to zoom into the tower in the right park panel. Once you zoom in close enough, you will zero in on a teal shuttered window. Then, you're going to zoom in on the boy in the carriage. Lastly, place the boy panel directly above the shuttered window panel. The two panels connect, forming a new tower.

The boy will enter through a window adjacent to the tracks to ride the train. So, how do you get to this window? After creating the new tower, the boy will walk down it and open the shuttered window in the lower panel. Then, zoom out from this panel. Next, you'll need to zoom into an angel building topper that lies beyond the top of the tower. Clicking the down button in the angel panel will reveal a train traveling next to a series of buildings. Once the train stops, zoom into it. Finally, place the panel with the train over the panel with the boy in the window. The boy will climb out of the building and walk onto the tracks.

The last step in completing the demo is paying the fare to ride the train. This section is similar to the coin puzzle from Chapter Five of the final game. Once the boy approaches the train, drag the panel away to reveal a scene of the teal tower at night. Then, zoom in to a building further off and left of the teal tower. Next, click on the old gentleman in the yellow-tinted window. Finally, return to the hallway panel and zoom into the ring in the skeleton hand painting. You're going to place the ring over the man's face to form the coin. From this point, you can place the coin in the train's meter just like you did in Chapter Five. The young boy will board the train, and the demo will conclude.
