The people who have as much spare cash as the Shinra Corporation might be interested in purchasing two new necklaces that are based on Aerith Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII.

In Final Fantasy VII, Aerith wore a necklace in her official artwork, but the limited technology of the original PlayStation meant that it wasn't reflected in her in-game outfits. The version of Aerith in Final Fantasy VII Remake has a distinct flower necklace that she is seen wearing in all of the available footage of the game.

The official Square Enix website is releasing two new necklaces based on Aerith, neither of which resemble the one she wears in either Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy VII Remake. The Ribbon necklace resembles the pink ribbon that Aerith wears in her hair, which also contained the White Materia, while the Flower necklace has a green gem that resembles the White Materia contained within a silver flower. The two necklaces cost $147.99 each and will be released in May 2020.

The product descriptions mention that the silver from the necklace could be discolored if exposed to moisture, so the people who purchase the necklace are discouraged from wearing it while bathing or exercising. Fortunately, the necklace is meant for diehard Final Fantasy fans, so that likely won't be a problem.

Final Fantasy VII is the most popular entry in the series, so it has received some strange merchandise over the years, including perfume based on Cloud and Sephiroth, energy drinks based on potions, and Zippo lighters bearing the faces of the cast. Final Fantasy VII Remake is set to be one of the biggest games of 2020, so it's likely that even more strange merchandise will be released in the future, especially as the game is meant to be followed by even more entries in the remake series in the future.
