A Gotham Knights playtest has been spotted on SteamDB.

One of the biggest games Warner Bros. Interactive has slated for 2022 is Gotham Knights, the next game from the team behind Batman Arkham Origins. Despite the fact that we've only had two trailers for it so far, Warner Bros. has clarified several times that it's still releasing this year and that we'll be getting more information on it soon.

It looks like that might be happening sooner rather than later, as a playtest for Gotham Knights has been spotted on SteamDB. As pointed out by Redditor Accomplished_Cut553 on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, the playtest was recently added to Steam, which could either hint that a beta is on the way, or that developers of the game are currently testing it out on the platform.

The SteamDB page for the Gotham Knights playtest gives us a little more information. For starters, it seems to have been added to Steam back in January, as the first changelist log was registered two months ago. The app then saw some small edits and changes every week or so leading up until March 4, where a lot of data was added to it and it was seemingly turned live.

Within that data, the playtest is listed as a beta and has its own featured image, that being Nightwing from the cover art, as well as a header image. Interestingly, the app was apparently later deleted from Steam, just a few hours into it being added to the database. This could just be the developers trying to hide it before anyone found it.

The app is now listed as "hidden to the public", although it remains on SteamDB with all of the data visible. Although it could end up being some kind of beta for players to take part in, it's also possible that it's simply being used to test the game out on Steam. Either way, it's good to see a little more information come out on the game, which has been silent since DC FanDome.
