Another week, another triple-A title to steal all the attention and all the headlines. Ever since Pokemon Legends: Arceus launched at the end of January, there has been another massive launch every seven days pretty much, all the way up to last week's Elden Ring. That may well have been the biggest game of the year so far, as even if you haven't been playing the latest Souls game, if you've been on Twitter then it probably still feels like you have.

Even Elden Ring has only been afforded a week as the newest game on the market, as a PlayStation exclusive has arrived to steal its thunder. Gran Turismo 7 launched on Friday, and as you might expect, those who have spent the weekend playing it have been gushing over just how damn good it looks. Snap a pic in photo mode and show it to someone who doesn't know about the game, and odds are they're not going to know what they're looking at isn't real.

That's unless they catch a glimpse of one of the frankly terrifying people that inhabit the game. The cars are stunning, maybe even flawless. The light bounces off the bonnet better than it would an actual car. The people watching on, however, as highlighted by The Verge, have had far less time spent on them. In fact, they look like they have been lifted out of a far older Gran Turismo game and placed into the newest installment, a place where they most certainly do not belong.

The on-lookers are less bad and more bizarre. Some look like they have simply been placed there with the hope that no one would zoom in and notice that they look like they first appeared three consoles ago. Others look like real people that have been scanned and dropped into the game. However, the best, or maybe that should be worst, ones of all are the driving fans that fall somewhere between those two extremes.

The basic models might remind those of you who know about them of Spider-Man's boat people. Insomniac purposefully made swimming a chore in Marvel's Spider-Man while also giving Peter Parker nothing to swing from when stranded out in the Hudson. That wasn't enough to stop players slowly making their way to the game's boats and discovering terrifying boatmen who would have looked right at home on the very first Spider-Man games from years ago. Take note game devs, if you put this sort of thing into your games, people are going to find and be mildly entertained by it.
