Updated June 30, 2022, by Ritwik Mitra: Grand Theft Auto Online has been nothing short of an absolute revolution. This game mode has single-handedly turned Grand Theft Auto 5 into the most commercially successful title in the series and has paved the way for Rockstar's long-term plans. There's a reason why Grand Theft Auto 6 is taking so much time to make, with the world of GTA Online receiving numerous updates and a whole host of cars. Here are some more of the fastest cars in GTA Online that players can get for under $500,000.

15 Lampadati Furore GT - 120.25 MPH

The 1.17 Last Man Standing update brought with it a fearsome car that is pretty decently priced, given its amazing speed. The Lampadati Furore GT boasts a top speed of 120.25 miles per hour and can absolutely blaze through traffic if handled correctly.

The car can be bought from Legendary Motorsport for $448,000. It's one of the pricier cars on this list, but makes up for it with a sleek look and high speed.

14 Pegassi Vacca - 120.25 MPH

Pegassi Vacca for GTA Online

The Pegassi Vacca is easily one of the most stylish cars on this list, and it helps that it has a pretty great top speed too. Flaunting this car in GTA Online will never get old, especially due to how much players can customize this beauty.

The car reaches a high speed of 120.25 miles per hour and boasts great handling as well. It's easy to see why this car is such a fan favorite, with its $240,000 price tag feeling fairly reasonable.

13 Benefactor Surano - 121 MPH

This convertible certainly looks like a fast car and plays this part to perfection as well. The Benefactor Surano is a beautiful car that players can customize to bring out its true potential.

With a top speed of 121 miles per hour, it's a decent car speed-wise, although far from being the best one on the list. Of course, most people care less about the speed and more about the feel of a car in GTA Online, with the Benefactor Surano being a really feel-good car indeed.

12 Dewbauchee Specter Custom - 121.25 MPH

The 1.37 Import/Export update brought with it a slew of great cars, including the impressive Dewbauchee Specter Custom. With a top speed of 121.25 MPH, this car can turn into a speed machine in the hands of an expert driver.

It helps that the car looks very sleek, making it a ton of fun to customize both visually and mechanically. While the conversion to this custom build costs $252,200, the base version of this car is $599,000. So, be prepared to make a substantial investment.

11 Declasse Sabre Turbo Custom - 121.25 MPH

This is another car that appears on a technicality since the cost of customization is under the budget cap, while buying both the base variant and its customization takes it well over. At least, in this case, the base car individually barely falls within this budget at $490,000.

However, as was the case with the Specter, the Sabre Turbo is worth the price. It's a great car to use, with the custom version being smooth and fun to drive around at high speeds.

10 Lampadati Pigalle - 121.25 MPH

The Lampadati Pigalle is classified as a Sports classic and was included in the 1.14 I’m Not A Hipster update a few years ago. It has a top speed of 121.25 miles an hour, which makes it the slowest on this list, but it’ll serve your needs until you can afford something nicer. The acceleration and handling are decent, making it good for long stretches or wide turns.

It’s just under budget coming in at $400k. If you’re interested, you can purchase it at Southern S.A. Super Autos, and the resell value is $240k. Even ranked the 77th fastest car it's not too shabby.

9 Dewbauchee Massacro - 121.75 MPH

The Dewbauchee Massacro is another sports car that looks a little more modern than the Lampadati Pigalle. It was introduced in the 1.13 High Life update. Its top speed is 121.75 miles per hour and has excellent acceleration with good handling. If you like real-life corvettes or the Aston Martin Vanquish style then you’ll love this car.

It can be purchased for a surprisingly cheap $275k at Legendary Motorsport with a resale value of $165k. It’s a beautiful car that’s fast enough to make it worth the purchase early on. It ranks 71st in terms of speed.

8 Dewbauchee Massacro (Racecar) - 121.75 MPH

This is the Racecar version of the Dewbauchee Massacro, and it has the exact same top speed of 121.75 miles per hour. It was introduced in the 1.19 Festive Surprise update. The difference between this and the standard version is that it sacrificed a touch of handling for slightly better acceleration.

This small adjustment will cost you $385k, so it’s up to you if the slightly better acceleration is worth more than $100k. Its resale value is $231k and it can be bought at Southern S.A. Super Autos. It nudges out the Debauchee Massacro as the 70th fastest car in the game.

7 Grotti Turismo R - 121.75 MPH

The Grotti Turismo R is one of the more exotic-looking cars on this list. It’s a Supercar that came with the 1.11 Business update. It has a top speed of 121.75 making it on par with the Dewbauchee Massacro with about the same acceleration, handling, and a bit better braking, which is why it ranks higher.

It’s definitely not cheap, coming in exactly at the budget for $500k when purchased at Legendary Motorsport, with a resale value of $300k. If the look of the car or the fact that it’s a Supercar is important to you, then buy it, otherwise, save your money and keep reading. Thanks to the acceleration, it ranks 67th.

6 Pegassi Monroe - 122 MPH

The Pegassi Monroe is a Sports Classic that has some similarities to the Lampadati Pigalle in style. It came with the standard version of the game and has a top speed of 122 miles per hour, making it faster than the above cars, though the acceleration, handling, and braking aren’t as good.

It’s also a bit expensive, priced at $490k with a resale value of $294k. If you’re interested, then it can be purchased at Legendary Motorsport. The Monroe ranks 65th in terms of speed.

5 Benefactor Schafter V12 (Armored) - 123.5 MPH

The Benefactor Schafter V12 armored edition is a Sedan class vehicle that was introduced with the 1.31 Executives and Other Criminals update. It has a top speed of 123.5 with decent acceleration and handling. This makes it the 55th fastest car in the game.

It’s also a bit cheaper than the Pegassi Monroe at $325k with a resale value of $195k. It’s not the fastest car on this list, but it is the only armored car. For those starting out their criminal enterprise on a budget and need something fast with some defense against other players’ weapons or the cops, this is absolutely your car.

4 Benefactor Schafter V12 - 124.25 MPH

The non-armored version of the Benefactor Schafter V12 doesn’t have that additional weight that comes from the armor, which makes it faster. It was introduced in the same 1.31 Executives and Other Criminals update. It has a top speed of 124.25 with better acceleration, handling, and braking when compared to its armored sibling.

It has a shockingly low purchase price of $116k with a resale value of $69,600. If you’re running the kind of enterprise that won't see a lot of gunfire and you want to save your money, then get this over the armored version. It jumps to rank 47th of the fastest cars.

3 Vapid Pißwasser Dominator - 126.5 MPH

The only muscle car on this list is the Vapid Pißwasser Dominator which was introduced in the 1.18 Next Gen Release update. It has a top speed of 126.5, which is a noticeable nudge from the Benefactor Schafter V12, though both acceleration and handling took a hit. It makes for a decent drag racing car on a budget.

It’s for sale at a reasonable price of $315k with a resale value of $189k. If you want something that looks like the Ford Mustang then pick up yours at the Southern S.A. Super Autos. It's the 27th fastest car in the game.

2 Progen Itali GTB Custom - 127 MPH

GTA Online Progen Itali GTB Custom

The Progen Itali GTB Custom is a Supercar that was added to the game during the 1.37 Import/Export update in 2017. It has a top speed of 127 miles per hour and barely makes the cut with a cost of $495k.

This high cost can be worth it as this car ranks 23rd for the fastest cars in the game. Sure it can’t compete against the elites, but it can outpace over 300 cars in the game. It’s also the fastest Supercar on this list.

1 Pegassi Toros - 127.5 MPH

The fastest car you can buy for under $500k is the Pegassi Toros. It’s classified as an SUV vehicle and was introduced in the 1.46 Arena War update a while back. It has a top speed of 127.5 miles per hour, which means that, while you won't win against racers with deep pockets to buy the fastest cars in the game, you can beat out a lot of multi-million dollar cars. In fact, it’s the 16th fastest car in the game right now.

This more than justifies the $498k price tag with a $298.8k resale value. Until you’re raking in the big bucks to drop a few million on a fast car or if you just like that Lamborghini Urus style of design, then this will be a fast reliable car for a long time.
